Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Corporate welfare

DW talk out of both sides of his mouth.
On one hand, LCS is supposed to help decarbonize industry. Yet company is ramping up on oil and gas production. He states that meeting net zero is not possible and too expensive. He threatened to cancel hydrogen project if government doesn’t hand out addition incentives. While at the same time, the company is being awarded hundreds of millions in government funding for clean projects that pushes out smaller players.

After years of record profit, laying off loyal workers, and squeezing employees, DW still wants more government handouts.

Is this corporate welfare on the backs of taxpayers? Or is the intention to torpedo the energy transition?

The woke green deepfakes are to keep the regime from applying a windfall tax. Hence the little bonus a few years ago and the RSUs. You get taxpayer welfare for whatever all the better. If you don’t think DW is a globalist you’re naive.

@mgk+1rKFoC6J LCS should better hurry and start making some money or DW will start firing them. So far LCS has proven to be a money pit with no results. Hydrogen is at risk as clearly said by Woods on TV. The sale of EVs is slowing because they're cr-p and people aren't buying them as much so our Li business will be worth nothing. And CCS has only four agreements but no money is flowing. LCS future is uncertain.

@dnd+1rKFoC6J of course. In other news, all politicians are honest.

No point spending money of your own when you can get subsidies to cover all your misdemeanors over the decades.

It’s a strategy of backpedaling when LCS and managers can’t meet their goals. LCS is a place to hide out while the rest are being PIP.

If DW was paying off officials, then he would be getting everything he wants and not have to make public statements about government needing to help make hydrogen economic.

If DW was paying off officials, there would not be so much government effort to hurt the oil industry. Pipelines would get permits easily.

Based on all government actions, such as limiting drilling, and promoting electric cars, and outlawing gas appliances, DW is not paying off government officials.

DW wants everything, and will lie to deliver whatever agenda is the flavor of the week. Definitely true that he is part of the machine redistributing money from the masses to the few shareholders, paying off whatever officials that are necessary to maintain that objective.

no such thing as net zero, stop with the nonsense. decarbonization is a fairy tail. every organic product has carbon molecules. You have been lied to.

It is not corporate welfare.

Hydrogen makes zero economic sense.

There is a good reason the world did not transition to hydrogen ever in the last 100 years. Not economic. Poor corporate investment decision.

Corporations make logical decisions. Governments often make foolish decisions with zero economic bases.

If US Government wants hydrogen, it needs to make it profitable for industry with tax incentives or funding.
