Zero chance of this ever happening, there is no margin in laptops.. they would lose so much doing that when those funds would be better invested into server

they wouldn't bother with it, next question
They would probably ki-l Dell market share
The military
SM need not bother bc they are tight with NVDA and riding the AI wave
Not much!
Or much…
think they mean low margin
@olc+1u7OrjrT apologies, what is "LM"?
portables a LM biz so why bother
I think the thinking behind this question is really off. Supermicro is a leader in making cheap server hardware. They don't understand users, client features, have no route to market for consumer or even commercial client products. Obviously, they could acquire or develop all of that, but why? It's not really a growing market, nor is it a high margin market. I could totally see them going more into enterprise storage and networking though. Adjacent markets.
Will always by Apple over anything else. Next in line comes Dell!
@dhk+1u7OrjrT our laptop hardware isn't that bad. It's our support that's terrible. They treat employees worse than normal customers. 25+ years of buying Dell laptops and I switched to Apple last time. My last support experience was enough for me.
who buys dell laptops?
give me Apple or Thinkpad
