Understood from my manager nothing coming up, done for now (mostly done for this time)..I know layoff always takes place but what I am referring is that absurd nonsense what we saw on Mar 4

@dh My manager said he did not know I would be let go. I can only go by his word. My manager has helped me with job referrals and references since I was let go. Whether my manager knew it or not, there's probably nothing he could have done to save me. I've accepted it and have moved on. It's a blessing in disguise.
Did your manager state that he/she did Not even know you're being Laidoff until the last minute OR is this just your gut feeling ??
I knew I was on the chopping block since about November 2025. I was RIF'd in Tech in March 2026 by the Worst "Manager" in the Whole World, and certainly the Worst "Manager" in Citi.
They generally know 3-6 months ahead of the execution date.
What were some of the clues ?? Starting around November 2025 he became aloof, gave me less work to do, stopped criticizing me, stopped doing 1:1 weekly Zoom touchbase meetings, we only met 1:1 once maybe twice per month and even some of those meetings were cancelled with his excuse that he was busy doing work for AN and KA.
It was a blessing because I was finally freed from His Torture Chamber and now work for a real bank that doesn't have Citi's dysfunctional, Fvcked Up, Clown Show problems and incompetent employees !
@ac I got let go in February. I received an Outlook invite titled "Catch up" from my manager's manager. Apparently, my manager didn't even know I was going to be let go. My ratings were 2, 3, 3, and a strong performer. I was shocked. Oh well. Moving on.
What happened in March? Did people get a random zoom invite to a firing?
Will happen again in June, it’s not done and far from it.
