At least the Chips Act won't be a repeat of the Solar Energy New Green Deal where the government invested Billions of dollars into plants that went belly up due to Chinese competition. How many solar panel manufacturing plants are in the U.S.? Maybe First Solar in Ohio.

If ever there was a time to lever America’s commercial advantage for something, the reclaiming of chip manufacturing into this country - by TSMC and Taiwanese or not - would be the patriotic thing to do (rather than, say, trying to go take back the Panama Canal or build resorts in Gaza).
Trump is being patriotic! He’s sacrificing Intel for the good of our country.
Intel is only loosing ground faster and faster. Anything Intel says cannot be believed.
Why should the US fail alongside Intel?
