Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

How much change do you think "Project Elevate" will bring to the org?

Is this going to be another one of those initiatives that are all fluff and no substance? Would we really see radical change immediately? I'm still of the opinion the company will look radically different in 2 and 3 years but more so cause of AI, automation, offshoring, loss of clients, and trying to streamline various platforms and processes under one unified solution (which is supposed to be one of project's goal).

@vw Lol there’s so many legacy systems and platforms that need replaced. I would think AI would make a ton of current workflows at Fiserv obsolete but again the company moves at a galacial place on updates

long term strategic plan is a reduction in workforce due to improved processes and efficiency (AI) BUT you have to assume anything gets done here.

in the end it will be like other projects.

They really need to stop telling us how to do things and instead trust us to use the right tools to deliver the expected results. It might make sense to use AI in a given situation, or it might not. It doesn't make sense to dictate its use just because.

It is a copy + paste of previous projects which did not bring about any significant changes. The products will not improve. The processes will not improve. No one has the budgets to do any changes.

They literally have every nepo, useless, family connected individual who haven’t done work in years assigned to elevate as an excuse to save them from layoff for another six months. Nothing will improve when people who are not connected to work are being tasked to improve the work they have never done.

@OP Please. My computer takes 10 minutes to boot up in the morning and craps out around 3PM when it needs a 10 minute reboot. Excel files take about 3 minutes to open up and then run slow. I get emails only when my computer sporadically connects to the internet. The help desks can’t get SAP connected to my computer and I need 4 different passwords and 3 internet browsers to access files. Will elevate bring change, yes, when it fails we’ll

Cleaning up slop daily. Wonder how it gets so bad with the same people in high places. Highly demotivating and I need to find another job very soon.

Maybe I just have low standards, but, if the small, basic step of upgrading our MS365 package is any indication, I'm somewhat optimistic that this new leadership may actually GAD.

The company is moving in the right direction by realizing how far behind we are with some of our internal tools-- despite touting our "innovation". Some of these efficiency tools alone should make the day-to-day grind less draining.

I'm consciously choosing optimism.

THis will be another huge waste of time and effort - just like the "transformation" project that we are 3 years INTO and ZERO has been done. If this fails, Dhivya should be fired immediately.

As long as there is crippling debt there can be no investment. You want to get better tools - pay for them. Oh, there’s no money because every available dime goes to pay off the notes.

Sounds like a bunch more fluff. Great idea, poor or lack of execution.
Pretty much the same stuff they've been talking about the last few years. Steps provided/direction is essentially to continue raising the bar for associates to meet/reach/surpass.
Hard workers continue to work harder and those that dont continue to collect checks and get promoted.
Who knows. Maybe it's a way to identify rif more folks.

Fiserv is far more likely to stagnate and restructure than collapse because its too large and entrenched in payments infrastructure. I see it hollowing out internally, losing quality, innovation and workforce stability.
