Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Blatant Recruiting Fraud

Soon Statestreet will be in the news for fraud in recruiting. Postings already have a preferred candidate. Managers do fake interviews involving external
candidates. Even internal
candidates are taken for a ride. Recruiters will be fired for being accessory to all this.

@bt

The company used to base raises and bonuses on how good a worker you were.

The company used to believe strongly in promoting the best workers from within
the company.

Then a dark cloud appeared over the company around 2005yr, Which believe saving money through any means was okay.
Yearly layoffs, hiring temps, hiring H1B workers (which is a big scam)

It happened to me. I was offered a job and the HR guy in India stopped it in dead.

@dg schedulers are in India. I have gotten direct emails from schedulers with hiring manager and recruiter copied, without even speaking to anybody. Could have saved all the hassle

Considering all the recruiters are in India and they now decide who gets interviews and who does not, I love after 20 years being told I am not qualified to get an interview. I applied to 5 positions and was told not eligible for all of them.

I spent a decade in State Street. Fake job interviews were and are the worst kept secret. Politics come into play and kiss the right people will give you edge.
They should prohibit internal interviews

It’s 100% true that they do that. I’ve had it happen to me and I’ve seen it happen time and time again to others. Waste of everyone’s time.

@OP I am not that optimistic that State Street will be in the news for fraud in recruiting, as a valid fraud accusation requires a PROOF, and it's hard to prove unless somebody files a court case. Likewise, I doubt that the recruiters will be fired -- they are just pawns following their bosses' instructions.

I agree a company should be able to hire whoever they want. However I also agree with the post that state street hires and promotes based on favoritism/friends an those that play the game… kiss up to the right people. So not necessarily losers are overlooked.

One person who obtained a promotion had just left the company. A position was open which would have been a promotion for this person and her senior VP friend reached out and hired them. There were many good and qualified candidates internally that interviewed that did not have a chance. I knew both of these the VP and the eventual person hired and knew the others did not have a chance…and the person hired had at one time worked for me so I know this person was less qualified than those who interviewed.

Personally i applied for a promotion ( I knew that they likely were not going to promote me over two others I know they were favored) but figured what the h*ll I am more qualified. My interviews went exceedingly well. My own manager had gotten feedback and told me how well my interviews went there was no negative or constructive feedback for improvement. There were also many other candidates I personally knew that were excellent for the promotion. Did any of us get it? No the favorite child did which I suspected after knowing how state street functions. I straight out asked the question … this person was already selected right? So the interviews were just a result if state street policy? Yep I was told that was the case… no one else was even considered …they perform interviews as state street policy is they need to interview every qualified candidate and they need to post all open positions even if they have already “hired” the person.

But nothing this is known by pretty much everyone… the only saving grace is I believe this points out how much I actually do so my bonus that year actually increased.
