Hearing from the CEO that BUs overhired and then "we need to do more with less" oh and "brush up on new skills" sounds a lot like I am telling you that you will be laid off.

@dfi+1ibougis which slack channel?
I expect only vcf, nsx, and some vrealize to be safe.
Also he did say "this is a great time to learn new skills" which was around the time the chat was asking about mass layoffs.
This was said in PCS AMA and I’ll try to provide some context.
He did say we over hired and have to do with less in 2H. But just want to clear “brush your skills” was not said in the context of a layoff. There was some other question/conversation which I don’t recall and he said in response to that.
(I personally don’t think it’s off the table but would there was no hint of that in that conversation..they know better than to indicate it clearly. My guess More will be clear post Q2 results end of the month)
He also clearly stated Broadcom will invest in some BUs and others will be sold off. They are interested in building a IaaS brand so PCS might see less impact.
Confirmed it was said many times in the previous few weeks. Staff level its been communicated for a month now. People need to know how to listen and read and stop being naive.
No way this was actually said, that’s bizarre
If you don't know where this was said you haven't paid attention to slack it was all over yelling with a play by play.
Where did the CEO say this
I have it on good confidence, Broadcom wants cloud revenue. In fact, they are forcing current negotiations to have cloud revenue. I have seen it a few times now people saying Hock Tan doesn’t care about Cloud. Not true
hard to tell. The core tech seems to be what interests BC. Squeezing revenue from large datacenter focused customers... AAR is big, but not sure how much Hock likes cloud/multi cloud strategies. He's kinda stone faced when not telling someone "I dont care about that, get to the point"....
EUC maybe lucked out later in the day, or he really doesnt care. We'll all know when the head count reductions come down the pipe and resale opps for BUs.
I'd be curious if EUC actually had a good one or not. While yes it is SaaS already does Broadcom want to fight MSFT for market share or do they want the easy part.
Every BU has been presenting to Hock and every VP knows after they future path. most know before the meeting. Shocking how many people on here are so clueless. Ya’all readin too much emails from our Apparent CEO.
the Sr staff for various BUs have been doing a "readout" for Hock and others. Basically it is a format that BC uses to get up to speed on what a business unit does, their sales numbers (avg $ per customer, breakdown of customers by revenue, spend, headcount, etc, etc).
These have been going on for a few days. It seems EUC had a good one. Some of the others... not so much. Mayne he doesnt care about EUC or they are already like over 70% AAR and he sees less work there, not sure.
But these have been VPs and CTO types doing these briefings. This is where they learn about us and figure out where we have spent too much, are too fat, etc.
When and where was that said?
