does that mean we can officially do less than the bare minimum? I mean, hard to stay “deeply engaged” when there’s a decent chance I’ll be shown the door very soon.

I'm taking my unlimited PTO until next year October :)
Why are comments being deleted on this thread?
@df Roughly 500 Phase 1 opt-ins so even if it does count toward layoffs, it will still be a bloodbath with 2000+ getting the ax at the end of the month sadly.
@dv 100%
@ak they cannot be changed at last minute. Each separation needs a HR and legal review. These take time.
@df The buyouts will not affect layoff numbers. They want to get rid of as many ppl as possible and rehire other ppl at a much lower rate for the same roles.
Do we know the final number of buyout offers? Maybe they won't need as many layoffs.
Go slow. You don’t have to overwork yourself. Paramount is in transition and that means some teams are not doing much work. You are entitled to care for yourself on a mental and physical level.
These comments are not it. The lists can always be changed up until the last moment. Don’t lose hope and don’t lose motivation. Continue to work hard. Continue to sign on early and stay late. Continue to push yourself every single day and do the best work you can!
I know I’m a goner. I spend 90% of my day in the office sitting on the toilet on my phone.
@ag Simply downvote their posts and they will disappear on their own, do not engage.
Guys ignore posts from @ad. They're trying to move topics off topic so that thelayoff.com shuts them down. It's a concerted effort by bad actors. No real employee would talk this way unless they're getting paid substantially by SD to sow discord. It's a page taken from the Russia/China and other evil agents playbook, to disrupt the way of life in the US, and they've been very successful at it.
I am taking time for myself. Using up all of my PTO before I can’t use it anymore.
I was asked to hop on a meeting after 5pm on Monday and replied “No, I have more important things to do.”
We are fighting back against the system.
As someone who was a temp and contractor for much of my career, some of these entitled responses make me sick.
I didn’t even show up yesterday. I just took off work and didn’t even tell anyone.
Seems like that attitude would be a good way to end up on the next “list”…
