Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Second email threat about RTO

I got the second email about RTO. Although I have been to the office 14 days in July, the email says “you have not improved your on-site presence”. Then it threatens me that I will be subject to discipline up to termination.

It is really upsetting to get an email like that after I tried so hard to go to the office the whole month. The only week I was not there for three days a week was due to sickness. And my average per week in July is 2.8 days!

What kind of je-k company send emails like that to employees working hard getting extra things done and managing two hours’ commute every day?! What do they expect?!

@fd and once you get laid off, no company is going to want your 30+ years of Ford experience, get ready for a forced retirement buddy

Our leadership (ll3) told us to simply delete the emails but that doesnt solve the problem of receiving the threatening emails in the first place. They must think sending them to employees will seriously boost quality and productivity - lol not. Also, even suggesting we should somehow 'make up' in office days that were missed due to vactions, supplier visits or illness is ridiculous.

@fd

30+ years? Well you are on a list already. Doesn't matter how many swiped you get. Ageism is real and you are precisely the type of person they want to see gone. Dont think it matters what you do to comply.

@tw

Don't you see, those golden children are going to save the company. Then dates will get kicked back like they always do. Will they get blamed? No, the blame will go to Dearborn and Ottawa, because if you actually root caused the issues and got rid of the problem areas, we'd have a lot more engineers and a lot less (or different) senior directors and C-level leaders. It really is that simple sometimes. But that would make too much sense, and we aren't in the business of making sense are we?

I got the same threatening email (second time this year) from the HD mo--ns. I've met my RTO requirements both times. It goes to show you how horrific of a company Ford has become.

@f4 B$, data must match. To report discrepancies is a direction from HR and LL chain.
We don't agree with implementation and enforcement of this policy, yet illogical fear mongering does not help employees aka this forum.

@an agree 100%. Grateful for all Ford has given me and my family over the 30+ years. I swipe 5 times a week every week and have done so since covid . Zero emails sent to me. There, su-k it up and go to the office.

@f3

Word on the street is if you do submit a disagreement as you say, hr puts you on a hot list for consideration to be laid off. Thus very important to not stick your head up else it will get cut.

If you got email message that you don't agree with, it is super important that you open a request (link at the bottom of the email), explain or prove your case, like you were on vacation, sick, or on the office.
You must not be silent, but be professional.
F hired extra people to deal with the transition, so keep them busy processing your cases

@OP, you need to start showing up for work at the office five days a week. Your manager will appreciate you and welcome you into the Friends and Family club.

They don’t have to and they won’t give any legal explanation, they will just terminate and give a long pdf to read and sign and move on, if you don’t agree they have a big legal team to show you some great time of your life.

Legally don’t they have to produce the data on your badge swipes if you submit a written request? Isn’t that what the Bullard-Plawecki Employee Right to Know act states??

As a senior employee with no Ford pension due to me I find it laughable and juvenile that HCM and the LL++ suite would even discuss a sorry RTO plan that we now have.
Ill conceived and just plain stupid.

@a9 Did the five people who got the email this time also got an email at end of June? Are they only sending emails to people who got the initial email after Doug’s meeting at end of June or they are sending it to everyone who didn’t get three swipes a week in July?

ET different teams had their on site days and it was 13 per quarter. It changed from last Tuesday to 3 per week. How does it even make sense for them to send this email to people who were not told to come 3 days a week in July by departments. That too threatening emails. This is toxic culture.

If you don't want to work onsite as required, go find another job. Find something with remote work, a shorter commute, or a different office layout.

It doesn't matter if working remotely has transformed you into the most productive worker in the history of the world. Nobody cares and you'll soon be forgotten if you quit or get canned.

I received an email that my swipes improved from initial communication.

Will the new policy be a strict 4x per week or an average of 4x per week? Like...should we come in 5 days to make up for the vacation? Seriously.

This is ridiculous!!! Although I work a lot more efficiently at home than in the office, although there are no desk and no parking spot at work, I just have to go to the office because the stupid policy! Our director says 2 to 3 days a week is good, but meanwhile they are sending emails out like that!

HR/nobody has shared data collected from the swipes to verify or veto, or have they calculate it.
It seems to me someone vibecoded while system and it is buggy, HR not answering requests is telling.
The whole thing is not transparent.
Adding for a class action suite?

If you took vacation, there is a link on that email where you can make a case. I submitted a case. I figure that, if I'm disciplined, at least I documented it.

If you know you have vacation coming up then you better come in 4+ days a week now to get you average swipes up.

Actually you better just come in everyday in case you get sick and need a day off.

And don’t forget sept 1 is a holiday, so plan to come in that Friday to get your 4 days in office, otherwise your swipe average will suffer.

HR doesn’t care why. Get your swipes.

@a5 They literally made the company vicariously liable when the manager committed to a tangible employment action that was met when an employee communicated they were in the emergency room and out yet disciplined under false pretenses. Emergency room = fmla violation. There would be no lawsuit because these people are committing legitimate fraud and need to be investigated to the highest degree. When they say discipline they mean use ur sickness as an excuse to drop all past promises, deny benefits in your contract ur entitled to, withhold things like your next rotation. They keep you in the same credit stealing falsified document smear campaigning exploiting toxic behavioral correction torture chamber indefinitely while they try to break you on a daily and isolate you

Sick days dont count. Vacation days dont count either as a legitimate badge swipe or an excuse. HR is not smart enough to tie in your outlook/teams calendar out of office reply or to the badge swipe analytics software. And management is too lazy to let HR know that your badge swipe missing days are excusable or not. This you see would involve work and intelligence on their part.

If you got the 2nd derelict notice this week, you are done for. Finished. I doubt even getting 7 badge swipes per week can save you now.
