Cvs stock is down. Lost value in last 10 years too

@1ds That is a lie.
You can sell the stock as soon as it hits your account. You do not have to hold it for any length of time. I sold mine the same day. I always have.
The only way you'd have to hold it would be if you wanted to transfer it to another brokerage.
The only fool is the one who leaves money on the table.
You're a fool if you participate in the ESPP...I made that mistake, so, yes, I guess I was a fool at one time. The stock is a loser. You can't just sell it once you receive the shares (with the 10% bump). You're stuck holding onto it for a year and a half. The stock doesn't grow...it just drops in value. The only thing you get are some dividends...that's it.
There are so many other better stocks that continue to grow and make money, CVS just isn't one of them. We're at record levels with various markets, you wouldn't know that with our stock.
Another reason why if you participate in the ESPP to always sell ASAP.
@py the dividend wont make up for the lost 20% in value over the last 10 years
CVS is a defensive stock. Just shut up and collect your 4.29% dividend yield.
Will be interesting to see who is let go this October.
@er sp500 grew by 200% in the last 10 years. CVS is simply not growing in the last years and the earnings reflect that.
There are better companies on average within the sp500 that have better financials
@de uhg stock is up 140% compared to the last 10 years.
Cvs stock is down 44% compared to the last 10 years
Med sales down across the board. Farmers can't sell their corn so can only afford to take their BP meds every other day. Medicaid ki-led so baby meds Rx go unfilled. Pedro is in Alligator Alcatraz so he can't pick his up from the local CVS where he pays cash. Muffy feels good about owning the libs so doesn't need her v-lium.
Don't forget in IT, chasing off the people that understand the business, Infrastructure and Infosec. Keeping the some of the kiss-butz that the majority couldn't stand.
Replacing them with "friends"
Place is doomed.

I think of the toxic environment...
The lying and false promises
The bad leadership
The taking credit for other people's work and ideas.
Karma.
If you want to feel better about CVS stock, take a look at United Healthcare stock.
Between mail order dr-gs, and government subsidized healthcare being slashed, let alone baby boomers now on a downslope, start looking.
Think we are gonna have cuts later in Q3
Structural changes in the marketplace, investors are anticipating rough waters. Less customers with gov budget cuts. Not looking good. We'll have a 20% job cut across the board, the question is when. There will be a big reorg too, we cannot continue to operate like this. I hate it, in every sense, but I think this is how it will play out. Go visit Optum's page and see 100s of posts today, they are going through this already (and they will be impacted more than us).
