Yup, and the email sort of blamed the employees. In any case, just a guess but layoffs are gonna have to happen. Again, no first hand knowledge. Guess they should not have bought two companies.

This is what happens when we tolerate mediocre coworkers instead of demanding they be fired. I know a few Process Verification Engineers that should have been fired a decade ago, but they just keep riding the gravy train.
Just engineers or are sales people getting axed too?
Wasnt it one of the "Best Place to Work"... maybe they laid for those advertisements with their employees bonuses
Not only no bonuses, semiconductor is starting to recover and they are planning to keep getting rid of assets in the US. Look at Texas and Arizona. An entire business line sold because most likely they were going to get rid of it. More engineers being laid off and manufacturing sites closing down. New NXP CEO is even worse than the one before and famous for keeping business lines lean, overworked and getting rid of their engineers to please their shareholders.
