@dd great line in that letter: "In Verizon’s case, though, the layoffs are part of an overall strategy that’s equally stupid. Which makes sense, since companies that try voluntary layoffs, by definition, are being led by id--ts." Did the shoe fit? Like a glove. 🤡

There is an “open letter” to Verizon employees on the web from a logical view point about VSP . The thought there is VSP is a fearful to be decisive decision . As in “ I don’t want to be responsible for firing anyone, so let’s allow the employees to decide” . That’s not Dan . He was in place 44 days , let 13k go and never looked back . He is still keeping his plan quiet. Because of the pending lay offs coming . Because that’s why he is in place . Not a people or social person , he’s fixing financials . And that means budget cuts , project cuts and less people needed. VSP too random to be a strategy

@d5 VSP allows Verizon to target high base employees. This will help costs for VZ

As someone that took VSP, I can confirm it’s a mistake. Don’t take vsp unless ready to retire and definitely don’t take it because of burnout. Take a loa instead or actually use or vacation time. The loss of years of networking, business knowledge, top notch benefits and opportunity is crushing. I went through months not being able to eat or sleep. I needed a break after managing chaos with 5 bosses in 2 years and countless reorgs. The vp had my team and I between 2 bosses for an entire year. But losing my history and future with vsp was not the answer. Don’t take it if they offer again.

People who say the grass isn't greener. There's better opportunities outside of Verizon. Take the money and dip

A VSP does not make sense. Too close to the last rif. People are still pending off boarding this week. If they do offer one in march - guess what? Those who were rifd will come right back fighting for the vsp = discrimination.
Furthermore, Hatchet man said earlier that he does not believe in vsps. Therefore we can expect that no more vsp will be offered while Hatchet man is in power. They will, however continue to rif folks

Of course there is chatter....
There is ALWAYS chatter...

But a riff is much cheaper, and Dan needs all the money he can save.

I mean, this would actually make sense to me. The broad vast layoff last year was just a way to get big numbers out the door. Post layoff the c-suite stated a vsp wasn’t offered because a vsp is too selective. (They couldn’t forcibly choose whole groups of people they want to leave and converse on couldn’t force volunteers they want on board to stay). So they did the mass lay off 25Q4 and then turn around and see who wants to leave.

Absolute nonsense, why are you people constantly destroying the credibility of this forum with this garbage?

Don’t take vsp whatever you do. The loss of connections, benefits and vacation time is not worth it. The grass is not greener.

The company laid off thousands of people by playing duck, duck, goose. Where are you people coming up with this VSP silliness? It's not happening. You are not going to get a juicy package to quit. These claims (or thoughts) have zero basis in reality. They are totally contrary to all evidence.

I’m also hearing low key conversations among Directors and above…targeting end of Q1 earliest or end of Q2 at latest. Package will be similar to the Dec RIF.
