Thread regarding VMware layoffs

And the lie of the decade goes to Hock Tan for “foreign investment control clearance in all necessary jurisdictions."

It turns out that Harsh Kumar was right when questioned that little, arrogant and greedy man. Now China needs some retaliation means against the US to avenge the advanced AI chips ban. The next lie is “the deal will close before the expiration of the merger agreement.”

All I know is that many of us at vmware do out best every single day to earn customer preference and trust. We do not deserve this humiliating show.

Customers will suffer the consequences of this series of terrible decision making. What were regulators from different jurisdictions thinking when they gave green light to this? Aren’t they supposed to look after consumers’ interests ?

@dbm+1plT7WqN Finally someone is starting to get the idea.

It is a cover up for something much bigger than Chinese regulators. That answer lies closer to home than all seem to think (If you are from the US)

For real though, if this is waiting on approval from China, then why hasn't HT said it is waiting on approval from China? Would that be so bad about saying so when many tech news and I assume investors think already China is what is blocking the deal?

Or could there be something else going on? Could China be a red herring? If it was approval from China hanging up the deal, I don't see what benefit there is in not saying, so it looks so obvious that is the problem. Unless it plays a distraction for people to focus on because the real reason is worse and would fighten of investors more than China holding back saying yes.

This Hock Tan guy is so full of hot air it isn't even funny. And now they say the deal will complete "soon". Oh yeah right, now we are supposed to believe them after they said deal is guaranteed to close 10/30.

@kzv+1plT7WqN,

"Let me say this," Tan replied. "I made those specific notes or remarks on regulatory approval. I ask that you think it through, read it through and let's stop right there."

So glad our board is performing their fiduciary duties… or shopping for sports cars?

I forget what they do now that I think about it.

Never mind, carry on, nothing to see here.

Can you read?
"foreign investment control clearance" != "merger approval"
there are different types of approvals out there. sometimes you need more than one.
