@gj, if your argument was true, why haven't they outsourced the jobs of the CEOs, CxOs etc in the corporations. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. And AI could do a better job without all these corrupt leaders.

If your job can done and moved to a low cost country like India, Eastern Europe, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil etc… it will.
It’s all about dinero and return on investment to shareholders

@db The trend in tech for the past ten years has been to cut people based solely on how much they cost the company. It doesn't matter who you are, what you've done, or what you're working on - they cut based on salary and benefits. Period. And if you're due to cross a threshold which increases benefits then you are more likely to be cut. IBM is moving all engineering to India (other than that which can't be legally exported.)

I have heard IBM is in CYA mode and justifying many sales getting cut over "...lack of OI activity in ISC...". That is IBM speak for opportunity identification in their CRM system called IBM Sales Cloud. Now this "OI Activity" is nothing more than juvenile sales nonsense like cold calling people who are marked in the system as not wanting to hear from IBM. Running fake and phantom demo's and Teams mtgs. Sending Salesloft spams to the same person 37 times in 23 days. Rinse and repeat. IBM has fallen and cannot get up. Much like the greatness and dominance Nokia had and now both are nothing burgers. I think it will get worse before it gets better and I have no idea how the stock is propped up to $300. $100 seems more realistic.

Band 9 here, was fired from Research. I was about to complete 10 years in IBM 4 months, and received enhanced benefits.They know what they are doing.

Band 8, no PIP, Software, US with last day just short of 2 weeks to make 5 years. Why is this relevant? Because if I'd made it to 5 years, they would've needed to pay me double the separation pay. They know exactly what they're doing. They'll replace me with one or four people in Poland, India, Ireland and UK, all places where my role is being advertised as open.
