They have been leading you in long enough. Now they want you all to quit so severance doesn’t have to be paid out. It’s a big sc--w you after years of empty promises that they were keeping you in.
We have a hiring freeze that turned from temporary to We won’t fire you but you can’t be promoted. You’re stuck till you leave

@db...it's "gleaned from" not "gleamed in". I hope you can take a correction without getting offended, but I felt the need to correct this grammar error on your part.
It is so weird that they fired people that have been here for years to hire a MD from St. Louis and then turn around and now say they are hoping people there quit. The EC is truly out of touch with what is going on in the rank and file.
I suspect a big rationale is “scale and efficiency”. There are larger, more concentrated service teams in other locations. I suspect the EC would rather hire there - say Indy, and benefit from reduced fixed and variable costs, fewer managers and larger teams, smaller real estate for print…I’m sure there is more to it, but this is what I’ve gleamed in conversations I’ve heard about.
Can someone provide context for the EC’s disdain of STL? It felt like a random call out in the announcement.
@OP stock price ATH, employees morale ATL. Never gave STL a chance. What ever is left of Scottrade is Dead! Sad week to be in STL.
Not really sure it was ever a temporary hiring freeze. We closed down all the onboarding training during the BIG RIF in 2023 (fired all the trainers and licensing coaches) and then they shut down the corporate office and sent everyone to remote, presumably until after integration (only to open the smaller Scottrade office back up for some who wanted to go back). The writing was on the wall way back then.
You-all in St Louis are definitely getting the Axe 100%.
Sorry STL. You’ve been done durty.
