Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Start applying ASAP.

Unless you’re a senior leader. START APPLYING ASAP YALL. Get out of this company. And even if you’re a senior leader leave you will be forced to cut jobs on teams that are already short staffed. Not fear mongering yall. My manager also recently resigned had been with TR for over 5 years. It’s getting bad.

@q7 there are definitely layoffs coming. Finance just added Q4 severance to the forecast. There are also PIP exits expected but TR can't get to the targeted reduction on those alone.

@pz yeah, because they're not doing a layoff. They PIP. Try to keep up

It doesn't feel like any major layoffs here this year, maybe in 2026. IMO.

While I think OP is correct about coming layoffs, anyone on this site already know. We don't need the warning.

The OP is accurate. They are looking for ways to reduce headcount with AI. It’s definitely coming and 20% is the target.

@da yeah this would be a long shot to protect my role at a global conglomerate. Have you not seen the layoffs the past few months. The highest since Covid. CEOs talk. Beats me just wait till December/january when they RIF.

This is totally fear mongering. You're either trying to protect your own role by hoping others leaving will relieve pressure on you, or you just want to stir the pot.
