Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Return to Office

How serious are they about this return to office? I’ve been coming in one or two days a week and my manager has never said anything to me about it.

@d9 Right! Penny's new quote will be "we need to move backwards in order to move forward!"

@ch

Hey, that's how things were done 100 years ago and nothing demonstrates vision and excellence more than desperately clinging to past practices.

@ch They basically said "sc--w your families, we dont care, and want you miserable so you quit." This coupled with dystopian micro managing to track our movements so it's easier to fire us for not "following policy". Probably going to have new tracking software on our systems and new badges created that need to be scanned 2x a day.

@bz In the town hall 3/4 ELT said everyone needs to be in the office eight hours a day, four days a week. TLs are not to allow flexibility due to unfairness and to create consistency. So, what you’re relaying is not what was relayed in the 3/4 townhall. I suggest OP watch the townhall recording and speak to their manager. Because - Thumbs are holding us down like children. They don’t care. Literally said “you can’t come in at 9am and leave at 2p to take your kids to and from school, even if you plan to work at home before and after, you must be here 8 hours a day.

Fu-k Edward jones.

When they first announced coming back in I did a day or 2 for the most part which my leader was perfectly fine with and had no issues with. Then when they installed the new gates is when he started to get reports from his leader and that’s when I was told I had to get my average days in the office up. I will say no idea how they will keep tabs on badging out especially with the new gates and locking those would be a fire hazard and nightmare for the firm if something truly did happen.

Former director (I just left thankfully), I told my staff they are all adults and I won't be the desk counter. That said, the firm knows when you badge in, there are reports, and much like other big firms, its been mentioned in leader meetings that these reports would/could be used to influence bonuses and future ISPs.

If your leader is flexible it should be come in and leave as you need to, just make sure your ba----g to get your swipes! Stay safe all!

@af this. Also more monitoring coming soon those TL and DLs will start getting asked to monitor.

TLs and most DLs could care less, as long as work is getting done and things aren't catching on fire. However, if you have been paying attention, the GPs and Director level peeps have been coming in and making sure they count bodies in the cubes. They will put pressure on DLs and TLs to make sure associates are obeying and complying. Think about it, we have a laundry list of broken, @ss backward tech, processes, and morale at record level lows. So what are GP's doing inbetween their endless pointless meetings? They are doing head counts on the worker bees. But please, tell me more about our "rich culture" we have here.
