Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

One one to sum up Citi

Michael Jackson- they don't really care about us

This sums up citi and all the posts regarding this.

Act accordingly, decline work without training, refuse to chime in for other people's role( you will be graded for their work while they skate away from work), clock in and out 8 hours, use your vacation and sick, take care of health, when it gets hard take mental health day and don't compensate by working hard rest of the week. Do not disclose your medical problems no one is your friend, NO ONE. Do not train anyone on your team for anything. This includes anyone in lower cost locations. For whatever reasons you have to stay at shitibank, play the game but sometimes know this isn't life and doesn't define you.

Shitibank has Eric trumps account since Oct 2025 and explains the Dec 2025 partial lift. You can count on consent order going away very soon. It's all a facade anyways. If you are in this role delay, stall and get out as fast as you can.

F shitibank!

@d9 trust me it's worse in cases, in my case training has given at least 3 times and still i get complain from my boss they (the recipients) don't know much and it's my fault (it's mentioned in my year end too)

@d6 Trust me. There are ways to articulate a reply to even what they said, "So you don't know what you're working on?"

They're obviously trying to extract trade secrets and knowledge from you. But doing so will make you replaceable, fungible, fire-able and layoff-able.

Just give them the bare bones basics, but not how to troubleshoot. For example. I work on producing FR 2052a Report for the Fed (Federal Reserve).

Quite often it's a case of they don't know the correct questions to ask and are fishing for trade secrets, techniques and strategies. The less you say, the more it's a situation of "They don't know what they don't know.".

@d0 Looks like you're Not articulate or a wordsmith. Obviously you want others to do the thinking for you and get creative.

Someone once told me in order to convince others of a Lie, YOU Yourself must believe it or rationalize it in your own mind.

You can say something like, "I simply don't know it." And leave it at that. Less is more. Don't provide additional reasons or try to explain it away, lest you expose yourself and the LIE.

If they pressure you further, another reply is: "I can't tell you what I don't know." And leave it at that.

Regardless, make sure you maintain and stick to your "Amnesia". The above has always worked for me.

Also, think back to your academic or university days. Why would you help others get better exam grades than you ? You'll be pulled down the curve.

How to avoid giving training in a way that backfire? Whenever I get hit with amnesia My manager asks "are you declining to give it (knowledge transfer)"?

For the life of me I don’t understand why job seekers who currently work at Citi are h3ll bent on ONLY searching for employment in the financial sector only. Most skills can be used in other sectors as well. As one poster said, “a number cruncher in the financial sector can be a number cruncher in the medical sector, the transportation sector, tech sector etc…” You see it all the time though that people are only searching for the big 3 banks and call it a day. I just don’t get it.

One this is absolutely guaranteed, true the job market is tough but if you don’t ever try you are 100% assured to not find another job.

I have a feeling they meant the issues will remain (nothing had really improved in the past decade) but they'll suddenly no longer have OCC oversight so Citi will then be able to fire thousands of people working on CO work

Hey great post.. but didn’t get this part - “ Shitibank has Eric trumps account since Oct 2025 and explains the Dec 2025 partial lift. You can count on consent order going away very soon. It's all a facade anyways. If you are in this role delay, stall and get out as fast as you can” are you telling citi will resolve consent orders? All these issues go away?
