Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

here’s what Fiserv is promising new employees

‘Maintain a healthy work life balance’
‘Plan for your future with competitive salaries’
‘Prioritize your health’
‘Advance your career with training, development, certification and internal mobility opportunities’

I’ve been here 10 plus years and have asked and asked for these things only to be told the following:

‘if you want to get certified you will have to pay for it yourself. We don’t provide that’

‘your required to work a minimum of 45 hours in the office each week’. SVPs then say we want you to work on weekends and evenings as needed

‘Although you exceeded all your goals there isn’t any budget for raises. you did well to get 2% and you should be greatfull for that’

‘Only 1% of employees can ever get an exceeds expectations so you can imagine how hard it is for me to get approval for that for you’

‘If you want that new opportunity you and your family have to move across the country to a center of excellence’

how much pure BS can they get away with giving to new people while completely ignoring tenured, experienced current employees?

you just can’t make this up.

yes only 1% can get an exceeds.

I was shown a graph when they implemented this about 4 years ago and they admitted that too many employees were exceeding so it was costing too much budget.

hence the 1% restriction

so imagine you are in a department of 1,000 fo-e example. and half your staff have been laid off.

Only 10 of you would ever have a chance of a raise above 2-3%

a s there’s probably 10% that genuinely deserve it

gibbons (fig) won’t give it as it comes out of his budget ie his bonus / personal payout

so your left holding the bag

stop working above and beyond. this system is purely rigged im the SVPs pockets. and it will only continue to work if everyone tows the line and cowers to them

this is not a natural
work environment!

So the only 1% can get an "Exceeds" is true? Wow, and here I was paying my supervisor dust thinking he tried to undercut me.

Ok, keep disincentivizing productivity, Fiserv. It will get the company far indeed. SMDH.

Maybe Mike will change things. I'll see how I feel about things in a few months. Might be time to tell this company to kick rocks.

@d8+1jvqxfybn and Frank unloads everything tax free …that is one amazing cunning move and well planned retirement …wow…no capital gain whatsoever.

And all those budget cuts for the employees, well we know where they went - to pay Frank a REALLY high amount. Then he abandons ship when is about to absolutely sink link a rock! And the leadership just let him. All the C-Leaders are guilty of this atrocity.

This is 1000% accurate.

The culture is one of cancer. Pressing associates beyond breaking points.

Only thing executive team cares about is the bottom line, the stock price and their personal wealth. Layoffs and job cuts are now common with most highly tenured associates transitioned out of the company.

They lost focus on their customer base.

What above poster said about all the promises when they recruit is totally accurate..unfortunately false promises..,they have ruined and earned the reputation Fiserv now has…that’s why the Kansas City employer market is so attractive

Yeah promotions take way longer than they should, can hear from your manager that you were put in for a promotion and the upper mgmt won't approve it for years. If you get a promotion then you will be excluded from a raise the following year. Typically they will give promotions after raises, then tell you because of the promotion they won't be giving you a raise the next year. Insane.

Only certifications they will provide will be to the bare minimum for selling products, and that could be one person per site. Nobody else is getting any certs or guidance on certs, but you are free to get certs on your own dime and leave the company for greener pastures.

Quiet quitting should be the new norm we provide this cr@p fest of a company

weve had people retire from critical roles and been promised replacements only to then have them pushed until the next quarter.

it’s happened for over a year and now the open roles have been canceled. my team is doing double the work they used to do as we have about half as many people and now they are having to take FMLA just to survive the exhaustion.

People are literally getting sick and ill from the stress of being overworked and worried about RIFs

Also FIG

I’m in FIG and it’s been awful the last few years. I was promised a promotion 3 years ago for far exceeding every one of my goals and it keeps being held up in processing.

I recently learnt that JGibbons has to approve every single promotion and had held mine up along with many many others just to save budget costs and I got zero explanation as to why other than an apology from my VP who expressed how embarrassed they were for how things have (not) progressed.

It’s just useless doing anything above and beyond here.

I can relate. that’s why i’m doing all I can to leave. This place is a complete fabrication and treats employees like dirt on their shoes.
