Thread regarding Quest Software Inc. layoffs

May decimation

Despite "we cannot cut our way to success" being the phrase used recently by CEO Tim Page that is exactly what has just been done, in the SECOND round of layoffs so far this year.

Rumors are this is a particularly big one with multiple teams, divisions, products etc all being gutted(further).

@d8 That's been happening for years as they "focused" on other software that would be the future of Quest. I regularly had to walk long time DP customers off the ledge to keep them from jumping to other software companies. We were told the DP team was finally growing to help us meet the demand but it turned out I trained my and many other employees replacements. Quest leadership destroyed teams, getting rid of talented team members that had the knowledge to support their customer base but then they were shocked when customer support hit the wall. People have told me not to be mad about the layoffs that affected me after 15+ years with the company, that I had a good career at Quest but I hold a grudge because the company has simply sc--wed talented employees so they can focus on the future. #theirfuturewillbemypast

They really don't know how to do layoffs. What company doesn't have someone from HR on the call or present when notifying an employee that they are being laid off. When you ask questions, the informant responds with "I will have to check with HR and get back with you...hold on...I'll message them on Teams....oh, they aren't responding and I have to jump on another call (to deliver bad news to someone else)..I'll get back with you." It's so awesome that you want to deliver the message without an HR person present to answer any questions on the spot. One would think being such a big company and being part of a private equity firm that they would be well prepared and have a proper process in place. It's great to be a longtime employee who had received praise and accomplishments over the years and then have this experience. Perhaps, it's the methodology of the new leadership.

Today was like oh how do we xxxx, wait dude who knew how to do it was just let go…well guess we won’t be doing it. All hands next week can’t wait for Tim to say some hard decisions had be made while hiring brand new C level . Patrick was useless but at least he didn’t lie openly

Yes, open season again despite Tim Page trying to persuade us things will be different. Hard to believe him as they keeping cutting the workforce. Sad to see great people go but maybe they’re the lucky ones with their payoffs and not having to listen to bullsh-t any longer. Unreal that some dodgy execs who are Hr red flags are still here and seemingly untouchable. The mind boggles!
