Today we lost contractors on our team (ThousandEyes) and it sounds like there will be big changes to come along with more layoffs.

entire software business will lose at least 1/4 headcount, replaced by AI, this is not just Cisco, almost every Tech company are doing similar things right now.
@d7 When it doesn't work, you call a red badge for support. When your laptop doesn't work or time to refresh, a red badge does that. When your VPN doesn't work, a red badge is who you're calling. When you show up in an office and your network port or wifi isn't connecting, a red badge is who you call. Don't think that teal badge makes you higher class/caste.
Your email is supported by red badges.
dude Cisco uses enterprise outlook.com and has for years
Your laptop is supported by red badges
the only thing Cisco has ever done with my laptop is install the shim to get their spyware on it...unless your red badges are secretly breaking into my home at night while I sleep to wipe down the keyboard
I can confirm that it’s coming
Red badge layoffs "don't count", until you need something. Your email is supported by red badges. Your laptop is supported by red badges. If you're onsite, your building access is supported by red badges, the electricity, the cafes, etc.
Cutting contractors doesn't count as a layoff, although it is possibly an omen of what's to come for the FTE's
Yeah, contractors based on the US were certainly under the g-n today. The message I was given a month ago was that there was a 20% cut in contractor spend across the board. The biggest bang for your buck would be dropping your high cost on-shore resources.
Today is the last day of all red badge contractors work in the lab, new contract was granted to a new company with cheaper rate
What manner of dystopian tech is Cisco making
nearly the entirety of the software security industry is binary blobs with admin privs that sit on your laptop recording and re-transmitting a log of everything you do
i think you havent heard, the newest cisco AI is taking over. like skynet humans are becoming obsolete and machine intelligence has taken over. time to enjoy the managed decline
What manner of dystopian tech is Cisco making in a group called Thousand Eyes?
