@he what was the rating of the affected employee? And what was the reason?
@dc you still counting?
@h9 even my initial reaction was same. They just fired on a zoom call, uttered “terminated for a cause, no severance, no. WARN, no unemployment” and conveyed that HR will contact later. The fired employee had to appeal to DOL with the screenshots of mid year review and past ratings to get unemployment checks. Lawyer is still waiting for more details.
@fb that’s nonsense. To fire for cause must have documented reason.
@f6 I was laid off yesterday in NY. Got warn notice email few hours later with suggestive dates of separations commencing May 6-14. That means this entire week Citi will be laying off folks in NY (atleast) plus 90 days warn notice to May.
@f6 Hopefully it’s just a delay. I’ve heard a couple of horror stories where people were not only let go but marked as “terminated for cause,” which eliminated severance, any opportunity of getting rehired and forced them to appeal just to qualify for unemployment insurance. The worst part was that no cause was shared upfront, only that someone would reach out at a later date.
Received email late evening that someone else will talk to me tomorrow. Still no details. They juat love to make it complicated.
@ec Sorry to hear that and all the best! Most probably, first communication will be WARN email from state labor department, Citi separation folks are even slower than the government.
I was Laid off this morning, there is nothing in my Gmail yet. Such a slow process, no details, no docusign, simply access removed and someone from HR will get in touch. Its frustrating. Anyone else facing the same situation?
@dd that was me who said that, and that is how is used to be, as far as I know, but looks like all bets are off these days.
Guess that comment about verbal notice always being on Wednesday was incorrect...
@d1 only 29,999 to go before next Monday.
Let go today, in NY
Math is hard for mentally ill people. Setting aside the multi billion $ hit to market cap. 15% represents at minimum $1.5B in severance and Mark has already guided that allowance for severance will be less than last year (though I do not expect that’s correct). Having said that I decided I’d had enough and quit after bonus. Many others presumably doing the same.
Seems people are slowly becoming psychos, with this work culture. They want to enjoy with false info and create panic around them.
@cn where are you seeing the NY WARN notices?
Haven’t heard anything today in the NY area about any layoffs. They normally would’ve started by now. Also, there were no WARN notices posted for NY/NJ. Troll post?
Since you are talking about NY, Warn notices are required for companies laying off that many people. Where's the WARN notices? NY requires 90 day notice. So far the only public information are notices for March and it's FAR less than 15%. You can't just throw around misleading and false information like this. There are requirements of disclosure for that many people. And that information doesn't exist. You are spreading lies. But if you have proof I'd love to see it.
Would LOVE to know who's feeding you this information. 15% is close to 30k people. That's 10k more than was announced 2 years ago by the end of 2026. Yet somehow you have information that 30k people will be gone this week. You seem to know something no one else in the world does. Because not sharing information this drastic which would cause a massive change in stock price, ROI predictions and a host of other impacts that could be considered stock manipulation and failure to disclose required regulatory reporting. But somehow, you seem to know it. Interesting.
Not so sure about 15% but layoffs in Tech this week up to 17 Feb for sure
Loser. You posted this 2 days ago. It’s still BS but keep shoveling it. That’s your station in life.
