Fake news!!!
No one in their right mind would buy Dell. If that ever happens I hope they do to Dell what Dell has done to every company they've manage to destroy.
@d1 100%
It could all be part of being positioned for the sell out. BA just increased the price target stock is up. The leadership is showcased as incable. MD may rather sell than deal with rotten core.
MD ans Silver have 100% control shares - MD has 51%
you blah blah has no merits as only MD can make that call - anything else is noise
Since Trump approved selling of Nvidia’s advanced chips to China, just as Clinton allowed missile tech to be sold to China, Nvidia will make enough money to buy Dell outright. Absorb some of his product lines (Servers, mostly) and sell the other pieces.
Don’t worry, MD will get a few more billion in the deal.
Given the management decisions being made, I too, find it hard to believe that Dell will remain a free-standing company.
Given we're basically building Nvidia's gear for them now, I think the AI server and PE server unit will be sold to Nvidia so that they can diversify from mere software stacks and GPUs. Standard PCs and laptops will go to a PE firm, HES will be sold off to HPE or IBM and everything else will be left to whither and die, or sold to Broadcom who'll extort higher fees from the customers left hanging on to DPD products.
Overall though, when you outsource profitable products with high margin to HCL, well, you get what you pay for, thus customers are heading for the exits.
Lastly, I sure am glad that MD and Silverlake sold VMware. No sense in keeping a company that was tightly integrated with us and where we could have raised prices slightly, say 50%, to keep building profits. Instead, we sold the golden goose and now we're watching customers suffer due to Broadcom's extortionary licensing fees and that money is NOT accruing to Dell's bottom line.
The power protect products will die a slow death. They're losing market share and not getting new customers. The only money that they're getting is from existing customers which are slowly moving to other products. It's a slow painful death and all the folks on the products know the end is near.
My uninformed take:
AI biz to Avago. PC biz spun-out. Remainder of ISG to a PE firm (like where Quest/Dell Software went).
Dell’s stock valuation remains independent and there are no signs of activist investors pushing for a sale.
Tell us again how you haven't been under NDA with the thousands of us who are for the past two years
It's a rumor that pops up once/twice a year. As all predictions repeated at regular intervals and for a long time, sooner or later it might become true.
bs
Who is going to buy this mess?
@OP Sources?
I’ve heard it from multiple people for a year at least.
