There are patents from Qualcomm Huawei Mediatek Samsung it can’t get around. With iPhone sales that peaked and can only drop further, it is no longer financially sound to keep burning cash on modem.

If it helps you sleep at night, why not
Damn if you were really that smart you could have predicted your future a.k.a. Layoff. Go look in the mirror lmao
In three years it will be the same story. Apple's modem efforts will not be ripe to be used. Qualcomm will get another temporary reprieve. Auto industry will keep squeezing margins with the lure of exclusivity and long term contracts. Q will jump on the next bandwagon too late to make a difference in stock price. Stock will stall and the only way to make it go up is to cut cost...aka more layoffs.
Apple will always keep a small bunch of Q-rejects as that helps negotiate lower prices with QC.
Some of you are so d-mb, can’t even google. Wonder how y’all got the job: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/technology/modems/snapdragon-x70-modem-rf-system
@cwv you are so optimistic about QC AI based modem. It is still a toddler. True AI-based modems will incorporate user behavior and mobile OS metrics in adapting modem configuration. At that point the fruit has inmensurable advantage, but we are trying to catch up.
@cwv+1p0uUOvs: Q has an AI based modem? Then why does QCOM not have the same P/E as NVDA? Do you know something the markets do not?
They have been trying with intel corp first in 2018.then they bought intel modem then They hired so many people from QC and stole lots of docs and specs but still asking for more extensions. What would happen in 3 years that is magical ?
Keep dreaming
Qualcomm has AI based modem for 3 years now. They are too late in the game
I wouldn't be so certain about it. They would have an edge when it comes to AI-based modem design. Just matter of time.
