Too early to tell.

Bluemercury was a good buy so Macy's should be given time to try other ideas. With Story they bought Rachel Shechtman. We haven't really seen what she might bring to the organization. In fairness let's see what she develops with Market.

'Too Niche' you say, well sure, not for every locale. I don't see Market as a savior of full line mall based stores. That's not it's target. I don't think many of the mall based stores can be saved. I believe a certain level on stores will work but store thinning has to occur. Honestly rather quickly as what I mention below are deployed.

Maybe a national presence of ~300 full line with continued fulfillment support. Smaller locations strategically located to support BOPS, returns and focused merchandise. Throw in Bluemercury, Market and Backstage where each is appropriate.

Dud. Not scaleable in the least. Most likely a diversion for Investors..."See...look at us...Macy's being so innovative...pay no attention to the crumbling core business that used to pay all the bills"

Too Niche. Focus on righting the ship, no more dumb experiments.

Sure in high end markets. Its boutique, urban city center. Upper suburban life style centers

yeah, as @cws said below, just look at STORY as an example on how things will be managed and how successful it will be. It'll be loose...
