Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Pay cuts

I currently work as a sales within Dell. As targets have increased so dramatically even top sellers are finding it a really tough time.
With all the talk of caring about staff and mental health the financial pressure on me personally is immense as I am sure many others.
I consider myself a pretty decent, loyal, hardworking member of staff who is pretty consistent over the years on hitting or over achieving sales targets.
But with the massive cost of living increase across most parts of the world, the return to office and ever decreasing salary ,working at Dell is really not worth it.
I just wanted to ask is anyone else feeling the massive strain financially or should I just be an adult and accept I need to move elsewhere and this is just reality?
I for one would be more than happy to be offered a WFR package but intrested to hear peoples thoughts on this.
It is really a kick in the teeth when Jeff and Bill say shareholders are doing well while we struggle and they get massive paychecks and high fives on Linkedin.
Why would anyone want to work and commit to this company when we get screwed at every turn?

He’s not managing the business he seems to be a LinkedIn influencer with his posts since taking over as GM.

He brings in no revenue and seems to spend his time on LinkedIn saying how amazing Dell is while the full time employees are suffering with unrealistic Quotas and Steve, Adrian, John Byrne and Billy are loving life.

@bwaj+1pga2R78 Steve Young is one bull sh-t mo--n, who has no idea what's going within the org or doesnt give sh-t on what's going within the org.
He's busy attending the race events and has audacity to post it everywhere and show how Dell is wasting money on this id--t under the name of networking, while the FTE who is actually bringing the business are either fired or buried under the obnoxious quota.

@2uod+1pga2R78 Steve Young hasn’t a clue how to lead a team he’s putting up slides in all hands predicting revenue with no idea how to meet the numbers. He is using managers to ruin morale in the UK org.

@2sfr+1pga2R78 I couldnt agree more.
Dell wants grads straight out of college who they can pay below market salaries and who ask how high when told to jump.
Steve Young said the future is bright.
He never said it was bright only for shareholders.

There a bunch of dogs! I’ve never worked for such a terrible company in my whole career! Even when I worked for a supermarket chain when I was in college I was treated better!

The only reason I’m still there is I haven’t found a new job yet, currently looking and once I secure one I’ll be giving dell the big bird!

I was feeling the pinch, but that was alleviated via WFR. Took me a bit, but I finally caught on at a really good place. I know every situation is different, but it's much better for me now. Much.

working at Dell is really not worth it

Do not work for DELL, work for NVIDIA or M$FT instead.

It is true that raising targets is a way to reduce cost (salaries/compensations). That's something going on for a while, though same time, I noticed in my dept that the sales guys get very achievable targets, with even at times already close to 200 % just with one deal at the start of the half ... can't put that into perspective with the current ongoing genocide on hard working people.

Dont listen to the pr/hr trolls.
Dell is sh-t but cuts are on the way so wait it out and get something before you leave.
Even if its only a small offer.

With the current quotas it feels like hitting 80% is like hitting 100% a few years ago. Better over perform if you want to hit 100% but if you don't like it you can leave. Good luck finding a comparable job with the current economy.

It's sad really.
Company had 2 blockbuster years during covid and has nothing to show for it.
Constant miser to their employees.
To think Covid was the bo-m years, right?

reminds me of a swap market

The talk about caring of staff and mental health is total bullsh-t. You are just a number on a spreadsheet unfortunately.

Get out. If you can do it with a WFR, the better.

It's a dumpster fire. Don't second doubt it.
Never seen a company go into overdrive penny pinching w their employees so much.

Get one feet out the door and hope for a WFR payout in the meantime youre job hunting
