Manager AI bot li---r

Does anyone else have a manager who’s fully surrendered to AI?

Every decision gets delayed because it has to go through ChatGPT first. You get assigned things that aren’t actually possible because “AI said it could be done,” then get told to use AI to figure it out. Eventually they try it themselves and realize the request wasn’t possible in the first place.

Every idea/process supposedly has a “better way” because AI will always suggest optimizations, rewrites, or process changes, even when they make zero sense given the actual constraints.

They send emails that are so obviously AI-written it hurts. Domain expertise gets ignored if it conflicts with the AI response.

And the best part: when I say something, it gets pushed back on. But if I explain that I am reading what AI responded with, suddenly they agree.

(Full disclaimer, I used AI to reword my post)

I’m not even sure my manager knows what AI is, she’s kind of intellectually challenged.

If i was an AI company. Like google or meta i would be training my models to drive more business. The model would subtly encourage people to engage with my products over my competitors

Wouldn't surprise me if this whole ordeal was orchestrated by AI and someone senior is under its grasp

My manager outsources their brain to AI and uses it for everything. They trust AI more than they trust a team of people with master’s degrees and decades of experience in our field. They give us lengthy AI dumps that we have to respond to and spend time and money figuring out. Anything my manager wants now, I just use AI.

@a3 couldn’t agree more. Incompetent devs using AI rather than reading documentation and/or actually understanding what they’re doing is creating all types on problems. Each file is written differently - no standardization… round-about, unintelligible implementations to solve a problem because the agent went down a rabbit hole… and comments that are left untouched after their code block was manually changed later (ok… I’m guilty of not fixing up the AI comments too)… I could go on

If any execs are reading this forum, you should know that everybody is lying to you about what AI is capable of -- it fu--s up everything it touches and my job is now just cleaning up utterly insane bugs because of my coworkers vibe coding and shipping.

Plus, if you let AI go crazy on a codebase, it produces so much code that you then need AI to try to understand it
