I wanted to see if we can poll folks that were let go and how many years of experience with Verizon they had and how old are they.

I believe there is a loop hole to this. If you are Riffed, it is not the same as being laid off. If the data shows that a majority of you are above a certain age that were Riffed, you won’t be able to sue Verizon for age discrimination because they are allowed to get rid of your role or position, there is no longer a need for it. They are probably going to rehire contractors to replace you but under a different job title to do exactly what you were doing. And they will make you sign away your right to sue them to receive your severance package before you leave. There is nothing you can really do about this because it probably is discrimination.
