Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Any guesses on when CEO announcement might happen?

Before earnings on Jan 30? or after?

Given the dire situation, does it make sense to wait for the new CEO to save this company?

Next CEO has to reduce headcount to at least 60,000 along with ki-ling projects and programs that have no chance of making money in the next 3 to 4 years.

@cw... for that kind of money, I'll do it. Couldn't do any worse than the the string of bozos we have had. Plus it won't be a long commitment. No matter what, it isn't going to be top tier CEO talent. Who would take this kind of risk with a mess like Intel. There is not going to be a quick fix.

Announcement can be made only if there is someone willing to become the CEO. Is there?

The next CEO will not have any ambitions for growth or resurrection. Intel is dead.
The next CEO will oversee a dramatic downsizing and scope reduction to something that can actually turn a profit.

There will not be a new CEO. Nobody wants to stand on a glass cliff.
