QCOM has actually great health insurance coverage. I have family of 4 and QCOM pays 25k annually (100% of premium). Check your W2, box 12, code DD.

This tells me your spouse is stay home wife then, as it's not free if your spouse also works.
I love San Diego ❤️ 😒
Holy eff that's some large family subsidy. We could save 20k by only offering health insurance for the primary.
There are many other beautiful places in USA to raise family much better than San Diego .
People need to travel more i guess or take their rose tinted glasses.
OP here! Forgot to mention, my backup plan if RIFed is to work as an consultant. Unfortunately, as self-employed, I will have to pay for my own health insurance. The cobra payments of 25K/year premiums is very significant which is free at QCOM.
Also, you get to live in beautiful San Diego! Great place to live and raise a family
That’s actually a good benefit. You don’t pay a single penny for a premium which is supposed to be after tax. For a family of 4, that would be about $1000 after tax. To compensate, you would have to have a base salary increase of about $15000. Correct me if I am wrong.
@cvv+1p1WeXm0 RSUs that have not vested is not yours anyway. Counting chickens before they hatch ?
On top of that, once you get canned, all RSUs that have not vested will be canceled. This is a loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Depending on your level, total salary + RSU + bonus compensation is $300-500k and you miss the health coverage?
If you find a job somewhere else, they will provide healthcare. This is not a reason to miss working at Qualcomm.
LOL .... lamest reason to stay at Q. If you move, your pay increase will be many many times that.
