Corporate Restructure

Happy Friday!

As we are all too familiar with the challenging business, volatile economic climate, politics, and the constant need to hire consultants to tell us the obvious. Another round of restructuring is coming soon to “drive efficiency” and in other words improve the profitability regardless of current workloads and additional rounds of store closures which are planned (originally stated in the upfront store closures for unproductive locations or offloading of profitable real estate assets).

I do not mean to cause panic via this post but to only share what’s brewing as hard working individuals brace for uncertain times and an even more so uncertain job market.

Keep your heads up and try your best to navigate what’s on the horizon.

@10g+1k24wee1g I agree I saw some hard working corporate employees. BUT I also dealt with a lot of incompetent senior level and directors. I had worked at Macys private brands design and left in a year, first of all the SVP of design regurgitated things from Target.
But I dealt with Macy’s hiring a senior designer with lots of experience but no true skill on trend forecasting. And a director who didn’t know how to manage down to make the team flow better. Finally I dealt with lots of product development/sourcing partners who just didn’t give a damn about making excellent products.

@p9 yea you reference lot of corporate scm yet stores employees aren’t doing much either. from a former corp employee i know how hard they work, the struggles are different but the same ones you face. my advice to you is stop being a dck and realize that not corp isn’t full of lazy suits

@cv

I didnt mean any disrespect, it was just unusual to hear clear , sound & helpful info for once, so i was skeptical as unfortunately no one shares anything truthful.

Im actually in corporate as well, im in LIC photo content studio & a cloud of doom has been looming for months.

I have no idea when the shoe drops but a shoe is in the air.

Appreciate you

@cp That’s what the glory days MCE and MCW looked like before they filed Bankruptcy in 1992 The Midwest stepped in and saved them. In 1994, Federated Department Stores acquired R.H. Macy & Co., which included the Macy's brand.

Yes, I’m in corporate hence why I’m trying to be transparent with the limited information I have. God forbid I try to be helpful and share info and you jump to AI. LOL. smh.

This post almost sounds AI or from corporate itself, does anyone agree?

It will happen next year when the Central division gets eliminated. MCE and MCW will return to its former glory days.
