Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Unbelievable

What is wrong with fidelity???

The managers have suddenly become super toxic, their tones have changed as if they "own you"...

I'm not sure what's driving this behavior but this is certainly not the company I recall working for ..I have been part of this firm for over 7 years but the last two years, and more importantly last 6 months have been terrible...

This manager has suddenly started yelling, being toxic, making associates compete, all while taking care of their pets who IMHO not sure how they first got the job and after being so awful still working for this company...

No surprises , I work for wealth

Same feelings, Fid has turned over the years from supportive to ruthless task masters with crazy deadlines to support leaders.

Sounds like we have a common manager, eh and maybe the reason is I'm not my managers pet for you to make such comment

Besides the fact that you have a bad manager, I don’t see anything to do with Fidelity, or wealth. If you can’t even get basic logic right, I don’t blame your manager.

At Fidelity, it's the management that needs to be replaced first. All the decisions made are owned by them. We have too many power point pushers, too many generalists masqueradig as experts and too many people that talk more than they do. Just pay attention to how many meetings they are in. What work do they do? Underlings, engineers or not, h1b or not, onshore or offshore, have no power.

Suddenly engineers are available as there are layoffs everywhere. They are available at a discount too. Good opportunity to hire the best among them and replace the internal ones.
