Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Skip level discussion?

What’s the point of skip-level meetings if only 'yes people' are chosen to speak, offering nothing but watered-down opinions?

Wonder why Ford is in it's present position.

Stop it. Stop being sarcastic. That is not appreciated here at Ford. Even kumar said so this week.

I am sure HR is working on a new anti-sarcasm policy just because of people like you. And word is IT is developing an anti-sarcasm AI plug-in for all comany PC's to strip employee emails and teams messenger from having any sarcastic comments.

Yes! Now we will focus on a 30K electric truck that no one wants to buy. In fact, there will be many models built on this platform!

Geniuses at work...

Skip level mtgs are only smoke and mirrors. To make employees feel like they are showing transparency. It's hogwash! Smoke and mirrors!

@cr If there are you’d like to escalate, Ford has an Open Door policy. There are communication channels linked in the policy you can pursue.

I recall my last skip level meeting. A question came up about what we think about EVs. I gave my answer (that they are unreliable, lack of charging stations, and most people don't want them). And, yet, here we are, making more.

The manager doesn't want you to bring them uncomfortable truths that they likely already know about but are able to feign ignorance of. That's why they cherry pick who can go to skip levels, OR their other tactic is to invite everyone as a large meeting to make it far less likely anyone will speak up. They say "my door is always open." but they leave out the second truth "just don't bring me any headaches to deal with.."

skip levels are usually are a way to gauge who are likable and who aren’t.

Ha ha ha - Make certain them AI notes are on to capture the essence of the meeting.

And you need to enable the video~!

Great -they can bring this up 20 years down the road, bd attitude, non-team player, doesn't get along well with others, etc......

HR's dream right here / right now .

I wouldn't say a group video call with your skip-level where you raise your hand to say whether you disagree or not with what she says off a sheet of safe questions a valuable use of company productivity. We-ponized transparency, how can one object? Always leaning into bias...

Anyone that objects will suddenly become someone seeking attention that is clearly wrong by the group majority, of course.
