Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

All I want for Christmas is to be laid off

I don’t think that’s too much to ask for. And before anyone jumps on me for not quitting, let me just say: I’ve spent enough years at this place to earn my severance several times over. I am not about to do Intel any favors by quitting. If they want me gone, I want them to pay me to leave.

The severance is not worth being laid off. I suggest that you find another job and leave on your terms, not theirs.

You spent enough years doesn’t mean you actually worked, and now you think you deserve something. Some peoples kids!!

It's ridiculous when people like you post questions like this. If you've been there years you knew when the package offers came up you either grab it or lose it because they don't come up often. ACT was 8 yrs ago. The company was in a better position. Now that they kicked out Pastor Pat there will be little to no severance. The board of directors will see to that. And you can't sue, there's no law that they have to pay you; as long as they follow WARN and give you notice, if your state requires it, you'll be lucky to get that notice, some time at work to stare at circuit and walk the halls with pay.

Go and get 2 coffees. Make sure everybody sees you. You might then get fired

OP nobody cares how many years you’ve spent at Intel and it sounds like you don’t want to be at work, so you will be walked anyways without compensation. Good luck with your attitude.

What a useless clown the OP is. Why didn’t you just take the VSP a few months ago? The next opportunity to take a package will be likely be nowhere as good. You seem to be quite dim.

It's easy to get laid off, just start asking a lot of questions in meetings and they'll lay you off in no time!

The rest of the semiconductor industry is undergoing a massive generational bo-m. Think of people who joined NVDA, AVGO and have seen their NW bo-m well into 7 figures just with their joining RSU grants. Your Intel severance will be peanuts compared to the riches you are forgoing by staying on a sinking ship. And by the time you get your paltry severance and make a move, everyone else might be at ATH’s.. way to go.

@qzd why does my grade matter? I'm not the one complaining about getting laid off after "spending" several years here. It's clear the @OP never made PE grade 10. I can't imagine a PE complaining like OP

Severance packages are not going to be what they were in previous layoffs. Reality is setting in at Intel and the reality is there are huge problems and recklessly spending in near the top.
