Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

RTO

Has the RTO threshold changed? I am outside of the 35 mile distance to RTO but learned today I am on the 2nd wave of teammates to RTO. I am 38 miles from a designated Truist office.

I’m almost 40 miles away and I’ve been going to the office. Where is this posted?

@146 much like 185 said, I am 38 miles with the shortest driving route, but “not all teammate above 35+ miles will be remote” appears to null and void that

mileage is a consideration for remote work, but not everyone who lives 35+ miles away from a Truist location will be remote per the company

@OP Are you really 38 miles from the office or are you 38 miles from the office on your preferred route? Regardless of time or convenience if there is any route that will satisfy the distance to the office then you will be expected to RTO.

Truist seems to be indicating upcoming large investment in robotics to ensure that new "Digital Teammates" are on site in an office. Because we are an in person company and believe so hard that working together as one team is key to our ability to bring our strategy to life and create success for our clients, teammates and shareholders. Our success depends on collective engagement and performance. Note to all digiteammates: oil those joints and get to your nearest hub!

@ty Most adults can budget for gas and plan a commute.

It make no sense for Truist to continue to force RTO. Most ADULTS are not in favor! We are not kids. We know how to get the job done remotely.

@e0 no one said anything about finding another job. There’s a difference in complaining vs asking a question

@OP Since a mileage rule is not posted anywhere, I would assume it's management discretion. If you are a "have" good chance you will be fine. If you are a "have not", you will likely be asked to RTO, assuming they have a vacant desk for you. Best advice I can give is to talk to your manager for clarification rather than speculate on this platform. Or better yet, call HR directly. Good luck.

Last talking head I heard answer about that said something like "Truist is an office first company and expectations will be adjusted as needed to meet that goal", and one of my peers is 40 miles out and was forced in back in January, so good luck!
