This site was a good place for people to come and share knowledge of events that may impact folks, discuss the challenges of a RIF, and generally share information: USEFUL INFORMATION.
It's turned into a place where babies come to bi--h about working in an office, drawing silly connections to stock prices and earnings to RIFs (complete nonsense), and generally complain complain complain.

I'm not upper management and I agree that this site is not what it use to be, has turned into a complaint forum. Some of us just want credible information on upcoming layoffs --THE INTENTION OF THIS SITE.
Who else lost thir job at Optum this week while your team is expanding in India. The states don't care about remote employees and there are no WARN notices for the bloodbath that took place. Who is tired of so much winning this year?
Look at all the upper management in here trying to silence the people. The people whose lives they are destroying.

So you, OP, are reminiscing and bi--hing about how bad this site is now instead of sharing useful information on it. Sounds like your part of the problem. I think this site always occasionally had useful information but consistently a lot of venting and internet anonymous sounding off.

@cr well said! I would look to find work with a private company (i.e not traded on any stock exchange). Why? They, generally, have more control/transparency and are employee focused. Offshoring/H1 visa is driven by a publicly traded company’s. If you don’t believe me AI, are publicly traded companies the biggest users of H1/offshoring.
The problem you run into is that there are people who are passionate about their work here, and this site offers one of very few ways to, hopelessly, communicate the problems they see with this company and why it is so bad, because employees here (like most companies) get very little say and all decisions are made with a select group of highly re--rded and unskilled individuals.
I don't think it does anything, HR clearly stalks this site and leadership only gets more unhinged and d-mber, but I think there are people who are holding onto some hope that things will get better (it won't).

Absolutely agree. They sit on here and they’ve complained for the past year, while they’re working from home – getting decent pay – and can’t find a job anywhere else because they’re not qualified. Instead of counting their blessings on the job that they have and the fact that they are employed And getting a decent paycheck, they’re on here creating rumors and bi--hing. But yet none of them leave lol
