Thread regarding Optum layoffs

How is it Funny?

I know people outside the company are probably reading this. I realize you all probably picture a bunch of Andrew Witty Juniors walking around when you picture shareholders and people who work for the company.

However, you all do realize we have janitors and lower level clerical worker who put their money into stocks? Janitors etc who felt they were making it in life when they got hired on with the company and contribute a chunk of their paycheck into employee stocks? People who didn't make a ton of money and just wanted something to leave their kids etc.

How is it funny that they are losing their investments? It's not like the people at the top are their favorite people either.

This sounds a lot like my situation. I'm also going through EEOC.

Sold at $550. You could feel something was going on and everything felt off. Strange times.

I have my two weeks notice back on December 2nd and sold my stock a day before Brian untimely mu---r I could feel it in my intuition something was off I was on a new team from Optum since I was previously laid off from United Healthcare after working 10 years my new team was not helping me at all to learn the job after months of complaining to the manager and staff I have never been treated so poorly I was yelled at by my manager for not knowing how to do the job with no training I called HR nothing I finally went to EAP because my mental health was suffering so bad from stress I stayed up all nights most nights to try to learn the job with no assistance it was the worse department I ever worked in! Leaving with no job was scary but I was not going to let a job put me in ground from a stroke or heart attack. I have pending case with EEOC about the treatment. I’m glad I finally left something should be said about how bad employees are treated at United

I think most people that work/worked at UHG for some period of time and have even a modicum of critical thinking could see how shady the company is. There is plenty they do that at the very least looks highly unethical, and definitely some that looks like outright fraud.

Staying at a company while you know they're involved in it doesn't behoove oneself. In fact, with the way UHG treats lower level employees, you might even be hung out to dry on one of the various outstanding Federal, State, and civil lawsuits that are currently ongoing.

They treat their employees like dirt, so yes, when calamity befalls them and a lot of the C-suite is losing their shirts over this, it's funny. I admit, I'm laughing.

It su-ks you might be losing your 401k/etc due to them getting hit, but I mean, it's UHG, trusting them is like listening to Jim Cramer yell "Bear Stearns is fine, do not take your money out! " "Bear Stearns is not in trouble! Don't move your money from bear, that's just silly, don't be silly!" on 3/11/2008. That's where we're at right now, writing is on the wall.

I sold most of my company stock in April when it was above $550. I sensed something was off but I would never had imagined this. I feel for my fellow employees who participate in the ESPP. It is a great program normally to help employees invest in their future. Remember there are over 400K employees trying to do the right thing at UHG who were sc--wed by a greedy few.

Well when your a bunch of corporate people including all the employees who engage right along side with leadership, who believed every bit of the lies this company parrots, for every nurse who goes along everyday and sees the corruption and says nothing but buries their head in the sand, for every doctor who follows suit, for every claims person, for every person who has seen the corruption but turns a blind eye. Well you reap what you sow.

Unfortunately this was in the cards when they started offshoring all the jobs and getting rid of people who actually knew how what they were doing. Very short sighted by the people who wanted the power and did not care at what cost! At cost of peoples livelihood and health! Very very sad!

It’s is indeed very sad what corporate greed can do. Not sure how this turns around. Poor sales and a stained name and terrible leadership. Future is not too bright.

The stock will rebound eventually. I'd say double down and buy what you can soon.

Hard lesson to be learned. dont put all you eggs in one basket. You get a paycheck now gonna double down on company stock. No way in he-l. They took away all the upside years ago only 10% discount and no lookback to lowest price of the buy period. That is when i quit the company stock.

Misery loves company, I'm worried about myself and my future in this company... not these people gloating and basking in people's sorrow..
