Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Time to unionize tech support ISG

We need a union to stop this cr-p and help protect us from bad leaders and sh---y pay raises. Can't belive we are working for a billion dollar company and we don't even get treated like a human instead of a number on a spread sheet.

A union is not for a single issue. It's a tool to give collective employees power to negotiate. Without that power, you either have scattered one time responses or being overpowered by the corporate entity. A lot of people are talking about pay. Okay. My own issue is going remote without retaliation. Presently, going remote is necessary for many of us facing impossible real estate prices and work/life impact due to God awful commutes. But The Big Company is using the threat of reduced opportunity, or even culling to punish us for making the only humane choice.

There's no shortage of issues, and that's when a union starts to look like an important way to balance power.

our senior leadership is in Israel and India. They could give two craps about the conditions.

Here's a thought: At the next Townhall meeting, why not just paste a link in the Zoom chat window with info about the National Labor Relations Act? "...In 1935, Congress passed the National Labor Relations Act (“NLRA”), making clear that it is the policy of the United States to encourage collective bargaining by protecting workers’ full freedom of association. The NLRA protects workplace democracy by providing employees at private-sector workplaces the fundamental right to seek better working conditions and designation of representation without fear of retaliation." Just to see how they respond?

it's true, just all call out sick at the same time for a few days. Not rocket science.

But if we get treated like humans, how will our billionaire overlords afford their 23rd vacation mansion? Someone please think of those poor billionaires!

you don't need a union to make a point. Why don't you and your cronies just walk off the job like you would do if you were on strike through a union. See how that works out for ya.

@cnf+1kVGBlbU Why don’t you go ahead and start a competitor company? If the business owners are really do-nothing exploiters, should be easy for you to out work them. Go ahead, risk your capital and time, you just may end up successful enough that one day your employees feel entitled enough to try and take your profits beyond the agreed upon wages.

I own Dell stock, just like millions of other normal everyday folks, likely in their 401k. Trust me, there’s no value being robbed from you for us shareholders, it’s performance sucks lol

Workers of the world unite! Enough is enough. We are being robbed of the plus value we bring to the company (profit). We are exploited with below cost of living wages so 1%ers like Wall St. investors (who don't produce anything) and privileged people who live in gated communities can live like kings while we are treated like disposable commodities struggling to pay rent and feeding our families. It's no wonder the likes of Apple/Amazon and others are unionizing. The world is changing let's accelerate the "great awaking" of humanity and change the status quo. Only we the young generations have the power to bring about a new world order, a true democracy. A world run by the people for the people. Let's end the exploitation of mankind once and for all. This system is unsustainable especially in the shadow of the doomsday clock nearing midnight.
