Any chance MDT may split into multiple independent businesses.

OP - “.. PATHETIC. Focus..” easy boy/girl. All our leaders came from GE and they’ve been following GE’s tricks forever and have taken Manyyy companies down the drain including our very own Medtronic.
Now the GE has split itself into multiple companies, it’s almost entirely certain this will be the fate of MDT as well. You shouldn’t forget that Geoff is among many puppies of GE School of Failed Management; and he shall follow the order of the Failed Management School.
You people are PATHETIC. Focus on your careers and families instead of these freak show pipe dreams. SMGDMFH
Couldn’t spin off Patient Monitoring… had to welcome them back despite telling the world GM didn’t want them
No one wants this POUP company no matter how you slice it or dice it.
No it’s not! The only split I’d like to see is GM from MDT. Need a better leader, not multiple companies
Spin off Geoff and ExCom into a health equities non profit and promote Sean Salomon to CEO.
Surgical wants to be separated - leaders leaving left and right and no announcements made.
Post ID: @cn+1jhqvdtsa - damn right; Medtronic Looks and Feels like po_oop; and so Medtronic must be a Poo_ooP that nobody wants it.
It probably should, but Geoff and team are not up to the job of such a complicated undertaking. I mean they couldn't even spin out Vents and monitoring. Dave Anderson may be Geoff's buddy but splitting up Medtronic would take a new team with skill and experience in med device to make it happen.
Yes please to splitting up this behemoth that is so humongous it can’t move. Diabetes can go, ditto the low volume OUs that are a drag. They can become one not-for-profit entity. Leave the high volume businesses that have decent margins and that are growing to those of us who will go the extra mile because we know our hard work will be truly recognized and rewarded with monetary benefits and not paltry recognize points.
Sometimes when I po-p it comes out in 2-3 pieces.
Absolutely
Anything is possible these days.
If they hadn't already tried with ACM I would have thought, definitely. They absolutely should, the business models are so different, but after that debacle, Im not sure they will. Something needs to change. It's a hellscape.
