Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Is there actual career growth at this company?

Doesn't seem like you can climb the ladder here in any meaningful way. Your only option is to quit and find somewhere else to work if you want to grow your career. Am I wrong or is it dependent on BU?

there are the regulars that fail forward every year. take a look at FIG and perfect example is DW! How many good people leave because of him? Leave, this place isn't changing

10+ years. 1 promotion.

they hired and are still hiring people for my team above my level.

I've never had any issues. "exceeds" for most of my tenure until the "curve" came into play.

fu-k this place.

We had a saying: the job you have is the job you will always have. This was true if you didn’t work in NY/NJ. Our old CEO didn’t like and didn’t trust other locations. He never could seem to grasp that those other locations built the original companies. Nothing at First Data, Fiserv, and all the acquisitions over the years originated in his beloved NY/NJ yet he believed that’s the only place where things can happen. This mentality still exists.

If you are a high achiever, nope! They like to take the same recycled garbage and put them in elevated roles. Look at FIG, they created a mess.

Absolutely no path to any substantial promotion....and if by some reason you do get a promotion ....they make sure you appreciate it by not giving you more than like 8% raise with that promotion....aannndddd then tell you sorry you get no merit the next year.

If this is what you want. Trust no one. Take it.

You have to want it and repeatedly ask for / demand it. Nobody is going to just notice your awesomeness here.

Excellent career growth, as long as you were a nepotism hire.

Your best move is to leave and they will rehire you in a higher position and for more money. I was once told that my problem was that I had been there too long.

Thankfully I retired several years ago. And yes, I am a boomer who thought loyalty paid off. I was wrong.

There are options and opportunities you just have to look for a new role every couple years. You won’t get it staying in the same spot. That is unless you are an under 30 worker who thinks they should be a vp in 3 years.
