Dell has some amazing people in China. Although sales have fallen off a cliff (easy to see why).
I’m quite sure that within a few months, dell will have completely exited China (Maybe a few token roles left).
Any remaining sales and services responsibilities will be done through a partner network.
Damn. Chinese teams were at least competent, unlike the "other" option.
@a9 And AiOps from what I heard
Try the duck.
I’m having a meeting with team in Beijing RN.
All Geopolitics. Nothing to do with the cost.
Chinese teams can provide high quality similar to American teams, and sometimes even better. This kind of consideration is not based on product quality and creativity at all. It is more of a political consideration.
There will be no "follow the sun" policy. I believe we've all been misled.
Definitely. They're prioritizing one region at the cost of others. If their strategy hinges on "cheap labor," they won't remain competitive in the market for long when they are going to start shuffling around the frontend workers.
It's too bad for the team in Shanghai they were a bright team with very dedicated workers.
@bw China isn't cheap anymore.. It hasn't been for 10 years or so.
@bw india is cheaper now. My understanding is Dell moved headcount to India from China to India.
Dell butchered the Shanghai team who were all brilliant engineers.
This is really disappointing. The engineers I worked with from Shanghai were very good.
i think we all know where this is going.
Heard ISG Tech Support from Egypt is being wiped out
@b8 lol Dell won’t pull out of china. The labor is too cheap to pass up.
Happened to my teams last year. It’s a rest location and an easy target. Plus Dell wants to pull out of China
Shanghai, China. Power Edge develope team.
We need more details please. Location of the team in China and working hours.
Thank you.
@a6
