Poor managers in CITI keep calling laid-off employee in China for assistance and MDs can't sleep well as there are many prodution issues which can't be fixed by rookie in India.

@m1 What most people do Not know or realize is that Accounting is NOT Data Science / Mathematics / Computer Science / Physics / Engineering, and vice versa.
Anyone who's been trained in Data Science / Mathematics / Computer Science / Physics / Engineering knows that Accounting as a discipline is a cake walk in the park. Accounting may deal with numbers, but it's simply Not on the same level of abstract and abstruse difficulty as the Hard Sciences.
Of course, Sh!tibank has a CPA Accountant as head of Tech and Data. LMFAO ! Someone on this site posted the metaphor of having a Nurse or PA Physician's Assistant as the head of a medical department. That's soooooo true and correct.

The data problems in Citi are addressed and headed by Non-data people, with little to No background in Data, Computer Science, Math, Physics, etc.. H3LL, Citi has a CPA Accountant as head of Technology and Data !!!
This is like and the metaphor is allowing a Non-Medical Doctor (Never graduated from Medical School AND obtained Medical License) to be the head of a medical department or hospital. Or at best allowing a Nurse or (PA) Physician's Assistant to be the head of those medical departments. 99% of would-be patients will Not go to those hospitals and clinics.
In (provincial) Upstate New York and some of the Southern U.S. States, in some counties Non-Lawyers who Never graduated from Law School or do Not have a Law License are permitted to be Judges. So you know their rulings are absurd, biased, Non-constitutional and violations of every single established Law and precedence !!!

TR's boss is NOT AN. It's the other way around. TR's boss is JF. But yes, both TR and AN are clueless about their respective domains. Especially AN surrounds himself with a coterie who are just as clueless as him because none of them have any kind of a background in data. It's hilarious that the data problems at Citi are being addressed by non-data people. And they are paying toins of millions of dollars to TN and AN's former employers PwC who are just as clueless and learning at the client's expense. At best, they can provide some help to Risk and Finance, but ask themn anything about line of business data issues, and they begin to stammer talking high level BS that anyone that has worked with data can see through in about 5 minutes.
But hey...they're all enjoying their millions till will worry about life and work when the chicken come home to roost. Till then...fly first class to NYC/around the world and enjoy the extended vacation..errr..I mean work on Citi's dime

TR and his boss, AN, do NOT give a Flying FVCK in case you haven't already noticed. They have their heads so far up their AS$ES, they have $hit for Br@!ns ! And they're more oblivious than lemmings.
They shouldn't help. These people in China should not answer the phone as others have suggested or charge a consulting/contractor fee of a crazy amount per hour. I wouldn't answer if it was me or I'd tell them to bite me.
So get rid of people (laying off usually means people will be recalled but this is not a all what is happening) and then SPAM them to help you. Unbelievable! No. Why would T or J care? MDs only care because it's a headache for them. Well su-k it up buttercups!
Why are they helping? Mostly threatened otherwise hr will stop severance.
This is happening in my area and it’s both sad and hilarious to watch.
If you are laid off why would you answer your phone to help a company that just sacked you? I would offer to charge a substantial consulting fee with a contract or lose my number.
I don't think he cares because he is not the one actually looking after production.
