Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

So much anger and negativity here

With all the doom and gloom posts here from employees let go, one would think this company is going to go under next year.

This couldn't be further from the truth. Just like many of the ones let go, the company will go on and continue to be successful.

@2mge+16Ey4Zys. There is a difference between layoff our people and PIP our people. Keeping the cash for shareholders vs disgusting layoff as PIP is unethical and beach of trust.

Not DW. but many will agree that there are too many in this company and many will agree that people need to go. Get rid of the low performers 1st, then get rid of the layers of management that were overseeing them.

@1gsl+16Ey4Zys Right still trying to cover your tracks. Plenty of people still employed disagree. Is that you DW?

Sad thing is. Many agree with the way it was done. It's been a long time coming too.

I would say it is somewhat shocking that people would come here to make fun of people who lost their jobs knowing what the truth is but considering how the company has changed over the last few years it isn’t shocking only sickening that these people exist.

Anger and Negativity - that's a day in the life of every Standard Oil executive and boot-licker since Mr. Rockefeller signed his first lease of land.
You can't trust nature. She mean.
Be Bitter.

No more glory, left only shame and deteriorated reputation. Even senior employee advised young employee to start looking out for new opportunities.

@kjl+16Ey4Zys. There is no need to look at other company. Looking at just the stock price of this company itself, the fact is that it has not been performing.

Stock price relative to itself is perceived performance. Comparing stock price between 2 companies is purely ignorance as to what stock is.

@rey+16Ey4Zys. Stock is also the perceived performance and outlook of the company. It also relates to credibility of the company and its leaders.

What a dumb comment. You unethically attempt to cover up a lay-off by lying on your own people to save your pride in the middle of a pandemic. Hm I cannot imagine why anyone would be angry.

@rey+16Ey4Zys stock price isn't an indication of performance. It's all about the market cap.

Exxon: 169B
Chevron: 158B

@OP+16Ey4Zys. Yes, the company will go on but it has lose credibility and it may never regain its glorious past. You might have forgotten that it was recently booted out of Dow Jones Index.
