Management Bonus paid by margin in the ending days... No District manager for hundreds of miles. Ability to make management special offers and override prices for better margins and control profit. Thanks for the lack of leadership and oversight from marketing mo--ns.
The free lunches and other things to keep the wheels on the cart were cool to. Plenty of people enjoyed the chaos of the ending of your auto center fiasco.

They are there, but if they ate acknowledged and corrected post hoc, that is much better than ignorantly and irresponsibly leaving them uncorrected.

Yes, errors that are rectified are fine. Uncorrected errors will be pointed out.
Typing mistakes are not rectified if they are not edited in place. Sorry.
If anything was worth keeping as brick and mortar it was the profitable Auto Centers in the big markets... Even if it ment moving equipment from attached stores to leased space. The value of decades old loyal customers and long-term knowledgeable employees who have a relationship with customers is extremely valuable. Everything in most markets including Tires is available without any distribution from sears from local vendors and manufacture orders while keeping the profit margins . K-Mart sold to Penske and it was a Walmart /Sam's Club hack type business.
I spend 45 years in Automotive... the last 11 years with Sears winding down. I made it a habit of checking sales report breakdowns of the top stores... and even Eddie couldn't f'k them up !

Probably closed because not enough people were counting them in the dwindling store count as a "store".
Metaphorically fix, by rectifying it in a future post.

@cft+1e8l7lIG A stopped Clock is right twice per Day. There were many goofy rumors around here, about Jersey City, Tukwila, and other Sears, and Avenel Kmart closing, but they never did yet. So I never believe anything without proof.
@sax+1e8l7lIG Here is the difference. I didn't state that they were not closing. I stated (I'm Speaking for myself, personally here, not anyone else) that we didn't (at that TIME) have proof that they are all closing. Now, the proof is linked, so I believe it. It's called upholding journalistic standards. Would you want CNN to report that Martians landed in New Mexico, without proof? I'd rather they measure twice, and cut once, to use a carpenter's expression, and get the story right, a little late, than report it wrongly, early.
You were right about the auto centers. Even a stopped Clock, is right, twice per Day.
There is also a long lists of posts, claiming stores were closing, which really weren't. How many posts, have we read, cumulatively, about Avenel, Tukwila, Jersey City, Union Gap, Newburgh, etc., closing? There's an active thread now, wrongly claiming Tukwila Sears is closing. If I just believe every post on here without evidence, then the vast majority of them would be false. Again, yes, you were right about the car centers. But because of the various and numerous, boys who cried wolf, around here, your legitimate post was disbelieved. I have gotten Burned way too often, believing posts around here. Never again. I trust, but verify. I will never believe any closing posted,, until and unless concrete, irrefutable, proof that meets journalistic standards, has been provided. You provided that for the car centers, so I believe you now. The Tukwila and Jersey City people have NOT provided it, so I don't believe them yet.
Unless it meets the journalistic standards, to be posted in the New York Times, I will never believe it. Links, proof, or it didn't happen. Links, or shut up until you have it. Link first, Talk second. Don't put the car before the horse. Don't put the closing announcement before the links. Always lead the story with your links, then start Talking. Until you have links, shut up. Again, don't put the car before the horse. Don't put the closings before the links.
I'm surprised that they didn't continue to string out the closing of auto centers like the stores, one by one. I guess now the end of Sears/kmart is imminent. Too bad the sole remaining Diehard auto center didn't live on a little longer.
Good riddance. They got to be really lousy in the past number of years as well. Don't just take my word for it, check out all the complaints with the Better Business Bureau.
Diehard dies
RIP Sears Auto Center
And the truth shall set you free. Those naysayers now have the proverbial egg on their face. Will they apologize to us? I will not hold my breath.
Unfortunate. But accurate and expected. Thank you.
So the rumors were true. Again.
