Contradictions

Roboadvisors are incapable and not good enough for clients, but a bot is perfectly ok to talk to our advisors and home office staff at the help desk. If the human connection is so important and means so much, why aren't you consistent JES?

AND unlike a 401-k match there’s no payout if the employee jumps ship prior to getting vested after 3 years. There’s a lot of churn with newer employees especially those with experience, after a year they realize they could do better elsewhere with better opportunities so they leave and the company doesn’t have a payout. I’m a tech manager and have seen this play out fairly frequently over the years.

The thing with the pension is they’re doing it to increase net income and the dividend, not because it’s in our best interest. It is in their best interest though because if you make a couple million dollars a year or more, you’re far better off with the cash balance plan because the company contribution doesn’t cap out like it would with a 401k. The rest of us our stuck making 5% on that money when it could be making far more in the stock market. Last year’s S&P 500 return was over 26%, long term average is 10-11%. They’re doing it for the dividend and for themselves (if in the C-suite), at our expense.

The managing partner should provide a 401k match or pension, not the home office or policyholders. Why the home office provides generous healthcare insurance and a lavish pension to the field defies all logic.

The Field folks are contracted and aren’t NM employees, they work for the network office managing partner. There’s no 401-k match for employees but there’s the company funded retirement cash account in lieu of a pension and 401-k, most companies these days don’t have pensions or company retirement accounts. The difference from a 401-k match is you have to put in 3 years to get vested to receive your retirement account payout.

Retirement contradiction is that people in the field are still given full pensions that used to be offered to home office employees. Home office employees lost their pension and 401k match yet people that aren't even employees are given a pension and healthcare by the company.

@cdqu+1s6V8cRI - Oh, but of course, Sangoofa isn't the lone ranger in the wasteland of resource mismanagement. Take a good, hard look at the folks nestled snugly beneath her in the organizational hierarchy - even T1-T4 levvels. Oh, what a delightful bunch of productivity virtuosos they are, spending their days luxuriating in the art of whining and squandering precious resources on Slack as if it were their sacred duty. Truly, they're the pinnacle of efficiency, aren't they?

Its ironic that Sangoofa is giving overseas TED talks and handing out resiliency kits to overcome the chaos and stress she creates within her department. If NM doesn't have money for phones at a help desk, they better not be paying for her vacation to Europe. Hasn't Jeff figured out how clueless she is yet?

NM claims they want diversity and unity, yet they sponsor an event like Revel in Tech that promotes the exact opposite. Hate, division, and differences are all that Revel in Tech consists of. How much money was spent on an opening keynote speaker that bashed white men? Other sessions didn't foster inclusion they excluded people. Telling someone that they can be an advocate instead of an equal is discriminatory. Where is HR and leadership in all of this?

Customer service is what we keep hearing is so important yet NM does the opposite of what customers want. Who ever heard of turning off phones to anger customers and force them into something they don't want like chat.

Contradiction: We can fund Revel in Tech but can't staff our help desk to reliable levels.

The company promotes financial stability and security in retirement on a daily basis yet they don't provide employees with a 401k match. This is a standard benefit that is expected at employers of all types yet a company that specializes in retirement products doesn't offer one?

jira align and portfolio hub are our official tools for planning. product owns backlogs & priorities but IT must generate roadmaps duplicating this data for leaders that are 2 busy or incompetent to leverage the official tools.

it's a joke at every level.

Very similar to how important is being in-person and collaboration when half the company is not local and lives on the other side of the world. I thought we couldn't function without being in-person yet Infosys never comes to the office and things get done just fine. Its all power and control with JES.
