Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

To everyone who got a 4

Start looking for a new job if you got a 4, you will be part of the layoffs/rif this year. It will come in two waves. End of January and in March. Prepare now for your exit with Citi if you got a 4.

Being fired and being RIFd are 2 different things that have been explained several times on this forum and a lot of people don't seem to get it. If there is a Reduction in force (RIF) that's a layoff and usually spans lots of people at the same time. You get severance for that. It's a layoff. If you get fired you get nothing. Being let go for being a 4/ poor performer outside of a RIF is not the same as a RIF or layoff. Could you be a 4 and included in a RIF? Yes. RIFs are not rating based however I am sure rating is taken into consideration when providing the "list" of who is going to be let go. But all these forced 4s leads me to believe they are going to use those ratings to avoid severance packages. Why else would they have forced more 4s?

Enough with this. I have had to rif 1&2 raters over a 4!!!! Sometimes rating does not matter.

ANY review with a 4 in it rounds up to a 4. Prepare now, and start looking for a new job. Best of luck.

@c6 Nobody is "safe" in terms of RIFs. Just because you switch roles/teams, this does not guarantee you a coveted roster spot. If anything, it delays the inevitable: either you are positioned for a layoff at a later date OR the responsibilities of any displaced team members will fall on you, and you'll get overwhelmed. Either way, don't consider yourself "lucky"...

People have asked - rating 3,4,4 and 3 then is it considered rating 4 or rating 3,3,2,2 it consider as 3 or 2

What I believe happens in general is the rounding is done to the cloest even number. For example, 3,3,2,2 is 10/4 = 2.5. While it is equal distance from 2 and 3, so rounded down to 2. Next is 3,4,4,3 is 14/4 = 3.5. So rounded to 4 not 3.

2.5 rounds to 2 and 3.5 to 4 because the round-half-to-even rule resolves ties by choosing the even neighbour, which removes systematic upward or downward bias across many tie cases

@ab in general, the performance discussion with your manager to go over your EOY review needs to have wrapped up by EOD today (1/9)

I still did not get my year end review. Not sure if it is a bad thing. When is the final day the manager has until the time is up?

If someone got rating 3,4,4 and 3 then is it considered rating 4 ? If so this person will be layoffs in coming round?
