I recently heard some rumors from my colleague that risk department is going to have a big layoff? Can someone verify it? I am so nervous now.

With the change in regulatory climate in the US you have to be a fool to think layoffs are not coming to all risk related functions. It is a very expensive overhead.
I've heard the same next week after July 4. If your manager is making an unexpected, it might be a sign. It has already started in Technology globally.

Just because I didn't list them here does Not mean the other Risk groups are safe or didn't get the Layoff Axe. The above are just the ones I know about where I know the employees who got the Layoff Axe ! The C-levels are across the board from MD all the way down to AVP.

@a7 Everywhere in Risk. It's been happening since end of March.
I know of at least 20 people who got the Layoff Axe.
They're No longer in the Global Directory GD since end of June. Even before June their MSTeams was showing status unknown.
They told me they're collecting severance and non-working money until Aug.1.
