No one was expecting the Amazon layoff. It gets reported by Reuters on Monday. On Tuesday Amazon completes the layoff of 14K employees. It is over and done. The workforce can move on. Way better than the Intel method of announcing the layoffs before they are even planned, the workforce agonizes for 6 months, and then they take 3 months to finally get it over.

My manager said she will start selling potato chips on Amazon soon.
Not sure that selling groceries, books and renewed smartphones will help Intel.
Who really needs a PC Chip subscription?

The best and brightest lead Intel! Our leaders want the best for us. They know what they are doing.
Yes, this would be much better. I don't know why we have to drag out every CPM for 6 months. It's a terrible method and demoralizing.
@cc You just accurately described why this company is failing in all areas. Everything is managed by committee and a large team. The team will discuss an issue for hours, days, or months and eventually defer to the highest grade in the room without that person actually “making the call” and accepting the responsibility. However, when it comes back as a bad decision, it was the ABC task force or XYZ tiger team that made that decision.

Amazon should learn from Intel
Just fire 90% foreign managers and all problems will be solved!
Intel should become Amazon or sold its business to Amazon.
Awesome
Amazing
@by you are kind of slow aren't you...
@cf they have a problem with execution
good that intel is softer and empathize with employees. give them time to reorganize and prepare. Intel cares for the employees more
And they all claim victory.
Intel management is so risk adverse that everything has to be done by consensus to make sure that no one is accountable. That's why layoffs take nine months. if they fire the wrong people no one can remember whose idea it was.

OP should learn from Apple and AMD how to make a better chips instead of copying Amazon layoffs like your managers copy and paste status reports.
Intel does their layoffs the way they do their process transfers
AI don't believe you should buy stuffs from Amazon anymore after the layoffs.
Crazy enough I agree, the waiting game is awful
