HP San Diego, the end of an era

HP San Diego Closure, the end of an era (the era when HP put employees above stock price).

"The handling of the closure of HP’s San Diego office has been a mess. Some people have received move or exit packages and know their last day and others have received nothing. We are being told that it is with HR and only they know. The site is closing on Oct 31 so the final date is known but nothing else is. Anyone else seeing this? This is really disappointing how badly this is being handled."

@172
You are the same liar who keeps saying how well HP is doing and there are no layoffs. And now you claim "HP has the SD lease for 5 more years. No indication of it closing in Nov."

Ask Grok:
"Yes, HP's San Diego office is closing. Based on multiple employee reports and discussions from 2024 and 2025, the site in Rancho Bernardo (at 16399 W Bernardo Dr) is set to shut down on October 31, 2025. This follows years of rumors tied to HP's 2016 sale of the campus to Swift Real Estate Partners (with HP leasing space back) and Apple's 2022 purchase of the property, which raised concerns about lease expirations and relocation."

"You do know that Linkedin and Glassdoor are not news sites. Those references are just opinion posts. HP has the SD lease for 5 more years. No indication of it closing in Nov."

Stop the propaganda. Apple bought the site.

The site has closed. Done. Over. All, but 130 ink lab development folks (mostly, incidentally, Ch-----n, who were moved to the tiny old 3D Systems place across the street), had been WFRed.

@cb They are just stringing those along that aren’t getting anything, but want to retain them until they no longer need them. The new HP Way.

Nah, don't believe it: Terry (together with the rest of the Site Council and visiting luminaries) said time and again and again that there was a 5-year lease following the 5-year contractual right to extend same, and swore that HP had bright future in RB until at least 2034. Could they all just lied? Impossible.
