two more days... we will judge you !!
@c5 You know nothing of the sort, and in just a few days your comment will be shown to be foolish and ill-informed.
🤔 I might just reschedule all of my 1:1’s to Thursday just to torment my people 👺
Good job Patel, you deserve CEO job!

They are targeting the ones who have not performed. 11/12s mostly only because most are 11/12s after the blanket promo fiasco. That doesn't mean 4-8s aren't going to get it. If you are not performing and productive you can bet your name has been forwarded for one of the rounds. Most have already made this bed so you should be worried if you've had performance conversations about your role.
It's performance within that grade. Cost is another metric, but not the overall driver in who gets selected...
When you start with KLOCs and go down hill from there Cisco clearly isn't using meaningful performance metrics for a lot of their work so that's off the table. I've seen single technical decisions cost Cisco $10Ms each and the people making those decisions got promoted for them so actual cost is off the table as well.
The most honest thing I heard there was from managers overseeing sizable development efforts saying "we don't know what you do and we don't want to know. We judge you by how we feel about you and if you help someone and we suddenly feel better about them we're going to fire you so don't help other people." If you aren't in San Jose or Bangalore there is also a decent chance they'll pick a Manager, Director or VP and toss them and everyone reporting to them at the same time. In general if your management chain isn't extremely strong and extremely connected you are at risk. No one will be held accountable for laying off the wrong people.
Don't think for a minute any of this is unique to Cisco. Plenty of old legacy companies develop bad habits and assume because they didn't go bankrupt they're doing the best that can be done.
@mv it wasn’t a conclusion, it was a question.
@mf no pip. Not sure how you came to that conclusion.
@me. Thanks. Sounds like you are saying your boss knew days in advance you were going to LR’d?! Were you on a pip? Were you asked to sign off afterwards? I’m still seeing I have regular meetings with my boss that back to normal there afterwards. Just hoping I’m wrong
@md my 1:1 was usually Monday pm but I didn’t have it Monday because it got moved to Thursday am. The earnings call was Wednesday. I got LR’d at my rescheduled 1:1 on Thursday am.
@mb not sure I’m understanding. Are you saying you got yours right before or after post earnings days in advance or a day or two before post earnings?
@kb days in advance (but my 1:1’s were often moved). It was usually a Monday afternoon but got moved before the meeting. It was still scheduled for 30 mins, but obviously didn’t last that long as there was nothing to say once the script was read.
Got an all hands with sr manager and director Thursday morning
@ab may I ask you if someone got a Thursday meeting for 9:30am do 30 mins for the day after earnings 5 days in advance is that normal to assume Lr? It’s out of my regular sync for Monday’s.
@jq was it changed days in advance to that Thursday or right after earnings? Was it 30 mins?
@h5 they are literally making them up. The only people that know the big picture stats are at the very top. There are plenty of confirmations being made within teams so that everyone knows there are going to be layoffs, but none of those people have a picture beyond their own organization.
@hp I was referring to my LR last August. Earnings call was on Wednesday. My Monday 1:1 was moved to Thursday am. It wasn’t unusual for my manager to move it, but I knew something was up that week.
@f1 what time is it for?
Where is everyone getting these stats and LR date from?
@gs Did you also get one for June to follow on a Friday?
@f8 what time? I got one too. Can you please share
@ar even cisco's astroturfing su-ks.
They aren't targeting grades specifically. It's performance within that grade. Cost is another metric, but not the overall driver in who gets selected for the unlimited, self paid vto.
Got my 1-1 invite for next Thursday morning
@f2 my leader gave me a raise this month so I am feeling pretty confident. And directors do not always do the LR readings they can come from FLM’s too, unless they are impacted, of course
@f1 usually Directors do the LR reading, did you receive 1:1 invite from your Director?. If your manager moving regular 1:1 mean nothing (unless your manager is a Director).
@a4 not true in my case. My 1:1 got moved from Monday to Thursday, the day after the earnings call.
@cf SBG is not getting wrecked, sure some culling of the herd, possibly even me, but feeling pretty confident my teams and I will survive post-May. Next week will see the alarmists and trolls proved wrong once again.
@ce ELT
SBG getting wrecked
@cd what is your BU?
found out Tuesday morning and felt bad all week.
It's a big one for our BU
@bv above G12 - 76%, below G11 - 64%
@ca False! Not even close to true! Stop spreading BS! Fu--ing proon
@br yes absolutely LR 87%+
@a8 it means you have been promoted to vice president.
@c7 you have been scheduled a meeting with me next thursday morning, you cannot decline.
@a1 Good job Fonzie for sharing something you should have known since you were first hired! I hope you are using AI too or you’ll also be fired if not. 😂
@bh 🍿 🤣. You don’t know jack 💩.
@br Of course these low life’s would spread this garbage! They don’t know. No one does. Those who do say “it’s a large LR be prepared” are full of 💩! Nothing is happening. No one is being let go this month. It’s going to take place on August. That I do know as it’s always been the process right after or before 4th of a July.
